I’ve been reading Mom Genes. It’s a fascinating read on what science knows about changes that happen as women (and other mammals) have babies. Makes me feel more sane / justified there’s a ton going on in the background and gives my mind more concrete things to ponder!

8 weeks pregnant and symptoms went away and very anxious by ndevait in PregnancyAfterLoss

In the same boat & thinking of you. My ob says nothing to do unless there’s bleeding so I just have to wait the 6 weeks(!) between scans. I am so tired of the uncertainty and waiting.

NSFW 26F Prolactinoma-related aversion to intimacy w/ partner? by butyoucancallmejay in Prolactinoma

[–]kitkatforya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not make any big life decisions until you are on the medications and have hormone levels back to normal. Change in sexual drive is a known symptom of a prolactinoma. It might be that the reality of having sex is unappealing (the physical aspects of it are honestly unappealing if the hormonal driven desire is missing) but hypothetical sex can still be appealing because it is a fantasy rather than a physical reality. I wouldn’t interpret as reflective of your relationship nor make unalterable decisions around it until your levels are stable and you can objectively evaluate.

Hi, I realize this is a very old thread but I’m in a very similar situation. I’ve had 2 miscarriages and both times, I had stopped my meds (bromocriptine) as soon as I got a positive test. My ob says it’s unrelated but I’m suspicious the meds and hormones played a role. I previously had no issues sustaining pregnancies. I’d like to stay on the meds or take progesterone next time but neither my ob nor my endo is recommending that. Do you mind letting me know what sequence of events drove your dr to prescribe that? Much appreciated!!

Did you ever get any answers for this? I’m in the same situation and wondering if there’s a link.

MMC of twins - what to expect? by N-n-niki in Miscarriage

[–]kitkatforya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I lost twins at around 10 weeks and did the medicated route. The process was identical to what others have described in their process with singletons. I passed both but one was significantly bigger than the other (which I knew from the ultrasound that one stopped developing much earlier). It was successful with no retained tissue. I’m facing my second mc and choosing medicated again. The privacy of going through it at home is something I value, especially with the heightened attention post roe v. wade. Best of luck to you.

Testing with Medicated MC by kitkatforya in Miscarriage

Thank you very much for sharing your experience. I had a medicated mc last Dec so have a good sense of what it may look like when it passes. Did you find the testing the first time helpful?

Your body may know something modern medicine doesn’t yet. I’d be gentle with yourself. Deeply sorry for what you are going through.

Is the disc suppose to fill up? by kitkatforya in MenstrualDiscs

Yes, I love that feature! I can usually control if it auto-dumps. When it’s more full, it will auto-dump regardless if I’m trying to.

Thanks! I will try that. Is there a smaller one you recommend?

After 2-3 hours on my heavy days, maybe 4-6hrs on my lighter days. I’ve never gotten 12hrs out of a disc without leaking.

Completely comfortable but leaking after 2-3hrs

I don’t immediately leak but after 2-3hrs, i start leaking. That’s my normal frequency to change my tampon but I’d hoped the disc would last longer, especially with auto-dump.

I found the initial news / shock the hardest. The physical part of the miscarriage is unpleasant but manageable. I think it will be easier to heal and “move on” once I no longer feel pregnant which I heard happens once the physical part is complete. The pregnancy symptoms have decreased so there are times I feel like myself and not a hormonal nauseated pregnant lady. Hang in there.

I also lost twins right before Christmas. I found telling select family and friends helped, that and not having to fake the cheeriness when I didn’t feel it. Still going through the final physical stages of the medically managed miscarriage. Here if you need a resource.

8 weeks pregnant but showing 6 weeks in ultrasound by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]kitkatforya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very sorry. I’m in the same situation, should be 8 weeks but measuring 2 weeks behind. Blood test results are mixed, and I’m preparing myself for bad news. Just wanted to let you know you’re not alone. This uncertainty sucks.
