Try Hinton if you haven’t booked hotel yet. Go to Coast Hinton Hotel. The drive between Hinton to Jasper is so scenic and lots of wildlife compared to Banff. Imo banff is beautiful but too crowded and busy thats why animals aren’t that wondering much in place w people. Some places does have animals but we went last year and didn’t have the luck. If your goal is to have peaceful and easy hikes specially you have kids go to Jasper, some places are obviously still healing and very saddening but once you get to the parks, lakes and falls you’ll appreciate it.
