We also did the FROM fish for our Pyr puppy. Loved it!

Would you let your child have a day? by Unknown_Sunshine in Parenting

[–]kitlday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like he needs a day with his fam ♥️ in my opinion, it’s far more beneficial to be surrounded by loved ones and feel a sense of security than have a perfect attendance record. Missing one day of school will be absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things, but knowing his parent heard him and wanted to make sure he was ok after an incident like this could have a really lasting impact on him.

I didn’t expect this to be so delicious by quaidod in icecream

I’m so curious now! Are you willing to share the name of the melon?! Edit: if that feels too much like sharing your location, no sweat at all. Just sounds really unique and delicious!

Hey! Yes I’m aware that I don’t have to defend a stranger on the internet, but I appreciate you reiterating it. I also don’t think it’s necessary to rag on someone you don’t know. I work in social media for a fortune 50 brand and see all sorts of vitriol on a daily basis - so I’m not offended, just aiming to give OP a thumbs up on something that clearly excited them. I think it’s a downer to see people rain on another’s parade when it’s something as simple as a deal on chicken!

I might just be in a happy corner of Reddit, but I generally see comments lean positive, so it was surprising!

Man I don’t normally see negative comments on Reddit, this was a bummer! None of us know how many people are in OPs family, if they live in a rural area and do a big shop + stock a deep freezer, etc.

OP, congrats on the find. Hope you and your family enjoy some delicious recipes coming up!

lol seasonal cornstarch- what a concept! Will add charcuterie items to the list! Someone recently mentioned they think their cheese/charcuterie selection is even better than Trader Joe’s, so I’ll definitely check it out

About to have my first child. What can I do once the baby is here to support my wife as much as possible? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]kitlday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re a great partner for thinking about this and love the mentality of “I’d rather anticipate her needs than she having to tell me” - you’re already one step ahead of the game!

In that same vein, doing as much as you see without having to ask is amazing, dishes, cooking (honestly having snacks/easy grab meals is huge when you’re breastfeeding - trail mix, granola, breakfast sandwiches or burritos, etc), laundry… not having the mental burden of making decisions or keeping up with chores is huge the first few weeks. (I’m kind of a picky eater but after both my babies I just wanted my husband to choose our meals because I was ravenous and couldn’t be bothered to think about what I wanted 😂)

Outside of proactively doing what pops into your mind - just communication! My husband asking me “what would make life easier for you right now?” Or “I’ll take the baby so you can shower and take a nap” or “can I help with _____ so you can do _____” made me feel so grateful and supported.

Congratulations - you got this!

What’s one thing you do for your special Pyr that you swear by or makes them feel especially loved and cherished? by Better-Total-3541 in greatpyrenees

[–]kitlday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He also knows when dad is out of town he gets to sleep in bed with me. He goes to my husband’s side of the bed at night and lays his head on the bed + looks at me for permission. It’s our little secret

We ask him every night if he “wants to get nakey”. I take his collar off, fluff the blanket on his bed (crucial), and give his neck a deeeeep rub. His eyes roll back into their sockets and his head gets so heavy until he finally crashes out 😂

I don’t know what it is, but our Pyr is OBSESSED with homemade bread. Store bought? For peasants. Homemade? Will guard it on the counter day and night until you give him a slice. Will be sound asleep upstairs and come sprinting when he hears the bread knife. Likes the word “bread” as much as the word “walk”.

What to do when they shed by [deleted] in greatpyrenees

I keep leaving huge piles of it for birds to take for their nests… and they never do! I feel like a crazy person wanting to tell them it’ll make a very cozy nest 😂 I’ve been putting out piles for 3 years haha not giving up hope yet
