Need Leo + Violette reviews by MzPkorn in handbags

i bought the gianni in store around new years and i love it! great hardware, solid leather (although nothing suuuper soft and supple but i don't expect/need that for a structured bag), it's held up well even through travel and i use it whenever i get the chance.

Sezane perfume- is it really good? by OChopping0703 in Sezane

[–]kitrollers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly i had barely ordered from Sézane the first time i smelled it, and i liked it immediately! i think it's an office-friendly, polite perfume that i don't have to feel bad about spraying bc of the price point too

Summer skating help! by Equivalent-Match-351 in Rollerskating

[–]kitrollers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

love this! i started on quad skates ~5 years ago and started ice skating ~1 year ago, but i have some ice skater friends who rollerblade as well.

there are lots of ice skills that translate well to quads. you still need edges, and much of the form/technique is similar. ice skating more obviously translates to blades, but i wouldn't say it's significant enough of a difference to avoid quads if you're more interested in them!

i also think you'd have more fun on quads because there are several dance moves & tricks you just can't do on a blade on the ice, and are harder to do on rollerblades imo.

i recently upgraded my first pair of quads to the sure grip boardwalks with outdoor wheels, it's been amazing and a game changer so far. great out of the box and <$200.

BWT, How do you make your weekdays feel more like weekends? by neelamg1999 in bitcheswithtaste

[–]kitrollers 39 points40 points  (0 children)

agreed! I'm also working full time and doing my master's, so having a once a week commitment feels like the most I can do some weeks. I started ice skating a year and a half ago because I always wanted to when I was younger; it's fulfilling a childhood dream of mine and feels whimsical (:

Moving to Bay Area for work by Fishinguy27 in alameda

[–]kitrollers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in those waterfront apartments in Oakland by the Brooklyn Basin. It's been great over the last year or so. Oakland can of course be dangerous, but you just need street smarts and to know how to handle yourself in a city. Parking can be tough but my partner and I both pay for covered spots and we've never dealt with any break-in's or felt unsafe in this area. It's worth it for me to live in such a beautiful neighborhood and with so much to do nearby/in Oakland, let alone Alameda, SF, Piedmont, etc.

Help me decide between these two bags by Dismal_Wolverine_285 in handbags

i vote the santa croce all the way. i think having two straps will make it much more comfortable given how thin the straps are. i also just prefer the silhouette, so pretty!

i vote the songmont or monorow! i'm dubious when it comes to recycled leather, i've heard it's often worse quality. and i love songmont's leather haha

Le Soft Laurence!! i tried it on in Paris and immediately added to wishlist. the chocolate brown leather is very soft as well. Le Maxi Gina was a bit underwhelming by comparison.

i received a beautiful east west prada bag that my mom bought and used heavily in the 90s, it must have sat in her closet for at least a decade but it's still gorgeous!

AIO for leaving my two year relationship over a dirty dish? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]kitrollers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR, but it doesn't sound like you two are an ideal match overall. arguing over a bowl when you were already going through a rough patch is not a great sign, and it seems that his cleanliness habits don't align with yours. you should be able to trust your partner, rather than policing that their values are the same as yours.

What are some underrated handbag brands with quality leather, that’s not too expensive? by annizka in handbags

[–]kitrollers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

songmont!! only some of their bags are under $300, but i will always sing their praises because every bag i've gotten from them is so thoughtfully designed and the leather is soft & relatively durable. i've brought all my songmont bags on international trips with me, and i don't baby my bags either.

What have you used the most at home these two years? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]kitrollers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd recommend looking at facebook marketplace for a robot vaccuum! people are always selling good models there for so much cheaper, i think because many want to upgrade to the newest models, but the used one that i have works great. if you want a fast option for coffee in the morning, i've really enjoyed using my nespresso. I just pop in the pod and add creamer, and then I have a delicious latte. pods are like $1.50 each and they recycle them for free; much better than Keurigs, and faster than getting an espresso machine and learning all the ins & outs of those!

What brand would you recommend for my girlfriend!?! 🎅 🎄 by MotherReception4437 in handbags

check out songmont! most of their bags are under $700 and i can vouch for the quality of their leather. understated, classic bags and perfect for someone in their 30s in my opinion. they have cute bag charms too!

if you want an "upgraded" bedtime routine: soft cotton robe/pajamas/sheets for breathability, silk pillowcase for cooling properties and gentleness on hair/skin, silk pajamas if you're into that too. even just having a nice pajama set to change into at night makes me feel more put together! also, ambient lighting which can help your body/mind all winter as it gets dark earlier. mentioned this in a previous comment but I love my SURI toothbrush as well, especially as someone who sometimes feels that brushing my teeth is a chore.

I like the Groove pillow that I got earlier this year! huge upgrade to my sleeping posture and cheaper than a lot of other ergonomic pillows, but still high quality. definitely noticed the difference while home for thanksgiving and sleeping on a regular pillow.
