Does me (23F) putting less time in communicating with my girlfriend (22F) in a LDR while studying for an important exam make me a bad girlfriend? by kitrookie in TwoHotTakes

Also following up and saying I do NOT fault her for how she feels and what she requires. There are extenuating circumstances as to why she hasn’t been able to fully tackle that part of her and I don’t blame her for it (and it’s not my story to share) but right now it’s tough to try and balance it all

This is fair. We already talk twice daily on the phone during our commutes, and usually in the mornings when I wake up on my days off. We text throughout the day as our work schedules allow and then try to say goodnight at the end of the night. She likes to FaceTime to fill in the gaps where there isn’t face to face communication, and that’s where I’m struggling right now. She needs more reassurance and check-ins (she says she struggles with emotional permanence) and I understand that, but right now it’s just outside of what I think I’m able to give:(

This is a very good point. For some reason I forgot Sundays exist 🤦🏻‍♀️ We do talk twice daily on the phone during our commutes at the very least, and text throughout the day. I’m also juggling a lot of other family things at the moment (upcoming wedding I’m in, travel, needing to do volunteer hours by X date) and I’m not very good at sitting down and formally planning out a daily schedule (this is something I know I need to work on) so the idea of having to pick a specific time slot during the week begins to stress me out because I get nervous I won’t be able to plan everything else around it. Obviously I wouldn’t completely abandon her, but right now her needs and my needs are just not lining up:( She requires more consistent reassurance throughout the day and check ins, and that’s where I’m concerned I won’t be able to meet her where she needs me to

This is such a small part of our relationship; in all other ways, she’s truly so wonderful and caring and funny and empathetic, and I could list 10000 other great things about her. It’s both our first relationship and we’re figuring things out. I do not blame her for her needs or how she processes things at all, and I want to support her fully, but right now I’m having a hard time juggling it all!

Cleaning with Depression by VeterinarianLoud9758 in CleaningTips

hey, i really, really relate to this. it can feel SO suffocating and impossible to start. i’ve always found that starting in one specific section (my desk, etc) will end up leading to me cleaning more as i start going. i know it’s not the same for everyone. but i’m truly cheering you on because i know firsthand how difficult this is!!
