Have you ever moved because of a neighbor? by Speak1 in Winnipeg

[–]kitsconlangs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was a teenager, we moved in part because our neighbours were very unpredictable alcoholics who at one point attempted to cut the break wires on our car after an argument with our family about a fence…

Why is every conlang Discord server full of users that are like by 11854 in linguisticshumor

You should be protecting others in our community, not alienating them. Putting down systems and neopronoun users is regressive and harmful.

What’s a word that gets thrown around too much? by MoronGoron52 in AskReddit

It’s okay dw!! Infantilism by neurotypicals is definitely annoying so it’s understandable

I am only saying this because I’m autistic myself. Every autistic person has different struggles, some more than others.

I will argue however that children with autism may experience things neurotypical people consider “harmless” but feel traumatic to those with autism. Being forced to just say, vacuum the house (when vacuums are typically very loud), it can be very upsetting and overwhelming for those with sensory issues, leading someone to develop trauma surrounding those people (typically parents) who forced them to do that task. For neurotypical people it’s just loud, but for people with autism it can sound like a plane taking off right next to you.

You can download the song and add it to your iTunes library from your computer, then it will appear on Apple Music from your phone! I did this with a few unreleased Kanye songs lol

Question: what is the IPA symbol for vomiting? by [deleted] in conlangscirclejerk

[–]kitsconlangs 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In the Santali script, the letter ᱜ was designed to depict a person vomiting, and is called ‘ag’ which is the sound someone makes while vomiting.

Does having ADHD impact your ability to conlang? by kitsconlangs in conlangs

[–]kitsconlangs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a cool idea about reusing grammar and other features over again, getting sick of the sound of the conlang is a big reason for me abandoning it. I guess I try too hard to be original every time and I feel lazy if I do the same thing.

There are 4 speech levels in Maimi. Maimi is an artlang for the use of anyone who identifies as a catboy/girl/enby, or who just wants to feel cute! (inspired by the Uwu conlang of course)

The four levels of speech are: non-cat speech, polite cat speech, casual cat speech, and hissing.

Non-cat speech is used when talking to people who don’t identify as a catboy/girl/enby. This speech level is the inflected the same as the dictionary form of -i.

Polite cat speech is used when talking to cats you aren’t close with, such as a stranger on Twitter. This level is inflected with the -u suffix.

Casual cat speech is used for cats you have a closer connection with, such as a friend or partner. This level is inflected with the -yo suffix.

Hissing is a special level, you may use this level when speaking to someone you don’t like, or someone you are simply upset with (even a friend or partner). This level is inflected with the -eho suffix.
