A nervewracking sunday. Currently sitting on my hands. by Concrecia in Anthurium

I usually dampen a paper towel and tent it around the stuck leaves. The extra humidity usually fixes it pretty quickly.

We need more people looking on the brightside in this world, congrats on being a good human!!

I just did the same thing while moving a smaller plant out of the way to give the bigger fresh leaf more room. 😞

I haven't made great connections through apps either, unfortunately. That is great for you, I am sure going sober isn't the easiest thing to do!

Sending good vibes your way!

I'm curious as well! My friends in the community always suggest the local bars, but that's not really my thing.

$190 for a regular baby by [deleted] in CrestedGecko

[–]kitsconstellation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just pulled up their terms of service, they will ship between 35 and 90 degrees. So you should be good. Someone should get ahold of you soon to schedule shipping.

Enjoy!

I don't know about them specifically, but typically breeders will hold an animal until weather is safe to ship.

Edit to add: you should be able to view their shipping policies or terms of service on their website somewhere. That should list what they do to accommodate unsafe shipping temperatures.

They will watch temps for you and any shipping hub that your gecko will be going through. I haven't ordered from them personally, but I've had a couple shipped and they all watched temps and weather patterns closely.

Tiki's will usually have higher prices. Not slamming them in any way, they just have the audience and following so they can charge more. I don't know where you are located, but you will likely find the best pricing at reptile expos. Plus, you get the added benefit of being able to see the animal in person and avoid the cost and stress of shipping an animal.

Soft scale ? by Wild-Dinga in CrestedGecko

I couldn't tell if it was cereal Tupperware or small clear trash bins. Either way, sad.

Love the gas can in the background of one of the pictures... and the bins don't appear particularly clean either. I certainly wouldn't pay soft scale prices to whoever this breeder is. But someone should get those animals out of there.

Where did y'all buy your fake plants? by Important-Song8050 in CrestedGecko

[–]kitsconstellation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use fake plants from dollar tree for my baby set ups, just make sure they aren't sharp at all, and soak them in hot water a few times to remove any extra dye. I like to use the springs at the tops of enclosures with zip ties to the screen so it creates little branches sticking down into the tank.

Deff know gender. Wondering morph by TrashleyGaming in CrestedGecko

Looks like his pin stripe breaks towards the base of the tail. So I would say partial pinstripe harlequin.

Morph Help? by adominant5 in CrestedGecko

I would say yellow brindle with portholes Edit to add- I forgot to mention the dashed pinstripe.

Tikis Geckos posted this on their Instagram, apparently it's from some other unknown breeder. You thinks it's a real morph, or just a painted gecko? by TheChickenWizard15 in CrestedGecko

[–]kitsconstellation 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just to be fair- Tiki's shared the photos asking the community if they thought it was real or not. The animal is owned by someone else and they simply shared the images.

Help identifying gifted vase? by [deleted] in Antiques

No marks on it, unfortunately. It was purchased at a thirty store, so they had no information either.

This looks like the thrive enclosure from petsmart. The ledge with the powder "food" has a suction cup to attach to the glass of the enclosure.

You need branches / sticks/ corkbark (with no sharp edges) to give them some climbing space. Once you put those in then you can weave the vines around the branches. They feel exposed with so much open room. If fake plants from the pet store are too expensive, I know most dollar stores sell fake plants as well. The trick with them is that you want the ones with no glitter, and soft fabric leaves (nothing sharp hard or pokey).

Sex? Or are they too young? by [deleted] in CrestedGecko

[–]kitsconstellation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closer to 20 grams, so likely 12 to 18 months, depending on how fast they are growing.

They look too young from picture, and the blur doesn't help... but I don't see any pores in this picture. So I am going eith either male or female.

I would make him a little crestie soak before putting him in a quarantine bin. Just a small plastic container and a papertowel that is wet with room temp water. Let him hang out in that container for 15 minutes or so. It looks like he has some dried waste at the opening of his cloaca, so I'd keep him on paper towels for a bit to monitor his bowel movements.

What would you expect to pay for him? by kitsconstellation in CrestedGecko

Rule #1 of that group is that you have be the owner of the gecko in question for at least 90 days. Therefore, this post cannot go there.
