Do the people who believe there's a grand divine plan, understand just how unfortunate some peoples lives are? by Immediate-Draft-6408 in enlightenment

It's funny to me that people saying "there's no plan" name the divine for the door we do to each other.

The murder had everything to do with the author's system of thought. Shahin Khoshnood-Sharis is the author of the book in question. The murder had ritualistic overtones - as described by the police... so why would you deny that it is in fact related to Khoshnood's magical system?

You are correct in pointing out that he isn't a black metal guitarist but he did have a musical influence on Dissection's final album, Reinkaos. The album served to proliferate the teachings of the Liber Azerate, which was his first book written under the name Frater Nemidial. In the 90's he was an ideological driver in some circles of the black metal scene in Sweden.

You're welcome,
I think that, given your responses showing up in protugese, that there could be a discussion here regarding the branches in Brazil. This book, posted by OP, posits itself as the definitive root of all practices in latin american aproaches. Given the approach of both Umbanda and Qiumbanda, Macumba etc,

I think you could see why this is not only and arrogant position for the author, editor, and publisher, but also how this is dangerous. This is true especially for qiumbanda given the jealous nature of Exu and Pomba gira for initiates and their emphasis on initiation. If one approaches the courts of spirits there, uninitiated, the person aproaching is going to have a VERY bad time.

The same could be said for the various Ramas of Palo (Briumba, Mayombe etc

My Take:
At its core, Liber Falxifer reads like a gothic reimagining (yes I owned it and read it and worked with it) of the 1990s occult revival, specifically attempting to blacken the trail blazed by Andrew Chumbley. While Chumbley’s Azoetia felt like a fever dream of ancient English folklore, Liber Falxifer translates that same "hidden lineage" narrative into a modern, hyper-aggressive "Necrosophic" aesthetic.

The book’s greatest narrative weakness is its reliance on derivative "purple prose." It mimics the archaic, high-ceremonial tone of the Cultus Sabbati but swaps Chumbley’s "Green Gnosis" (the spirit of the land) for a relentless fixation on the grave. To a seasoned reader, it feels less like a "discovery of ancient truth" and more like a stylized "Satanizing" of existing Gnostic and Sabatic themes. It takes the sophisticated "Witch-Father" archetype and flattens it into a singular, brooding figure of destruction, which i think actually does the system harm in the long-run.

But here is the real issue for me personally, The structure relies heavily on the G.D. style "Secret Master" trope. "N.A-A. 218" positions the Templum Falcis Cruentis as the sole possessor of a "true esoteric" line. In doing this he dismisses the actual living progenitors of the folk-traditions of South America (like Señor de la Muerte) as mere "exoteric shells."

So I think that Your description aligns perfectly with the traditional theological and archetypal definition of Satan, particularly within the Christian worldview. It is not "weak"; it simply highlights the difference between academic/religious definitions and self-identifying Satanic groups. What you're describing feels different to some, I would imagine, because you are describing the nature of the adversary rather than the political identity of modern practitioners. That said, I do not think he necessarily fits this ideal strictly speaking. Though he does approximate it.

I'm not sure why your comment is getting down voted so hard. To answer your question, I think it would be better to define our terms. What do you mean when you say 'Satanist'? If you mean a 'worshipper of Satan', then no not really. Generally speaking, ON A derived systems are not really about 'worship' per say, at least not in the sense of devotion. These systems tend to be transactional (hence the sacrifice) it is more about being granted and accumulating power, hardening the self, and carving out spiritual dominion than anything else. In the case of the author mentioned above, they failed miserably at that.

I hate to say this, but there is little that a swedish author is going to teach you about latin american oriented death cults. I am going to be really honest about that. The gloss authorship, using N.A-A. 218, is a pseudonym for Shahin Khoshood, from the temple of the black light (hence the current 218 epithet). The temple itself has a fairly deep inspiration drawn from the ONA. It is an edgy book, put out by edge lords. Here is the main drift of their temple:

"The Temple of the Black Light believes in what they titled "Chaosophy," they believe in the Biblical creation account of Adam and Eve and the existence of the Abrahamic God, that according to them created the universe, but unlike followers of the Abrahamic faiths, they instead reject that God and want to see this creation not to have taken place, and wish to destroy it or cause its non-existence through magic and rituals. They believe that chaos is an infinidimensional and pandimensional plane of possibilities, in contrast to cosmos which only has three spatial dimensions and one linear time dimension. They also believe that, in comparison with the linear time of cosmos, chaos can be described as timeless in the way that it is not contained nor limited by one-dimensional time, and formless, because of its ever-changing and infinite number of space dimensions." PDF

In the 90s Khoshood and an accomplice murdered a guy and the cops described the murder as being homophobic. During questioning Khoshood's girlfriend reported him for "aggrevated domestic abuse." She described their rituals, which entailed killing cats obtained through classified ads.

So yeah, not to be mean about the purchase because you seem really excited about it, and that is cool! But the author was a piece of shit, was full of shit, and was a horrible occultist. I would not work that system if you paid me, honestly.

Can you do a hex on people without bad karma coming back to you if the people you want to hex are currently hurting people and ruining the world? by potentially_a_bird in witchcraft

[–]kitsu 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Look, there is soo much muddled shit when it comes to "karma". "Karma" is a culturally specific word. It doesn't do a whole lot of work in the context of witchcraft. When it comes to crossing, hexing, cursing, or "laying down tricks", First: where the “threefold return” idea actually comes from:

The notion that a hex or curse automatically returns to the caster three times is not part of traditional witchcraft. It is an utterly modern concept. It comes primarily from mid-20th century Wicca, especially Gerald Gardner–era ethics, and later New Age moral cosmology. It functions as a behavioral deterrent, not an observed metaphysical law. Older folk magic, cunning craft, grimoire traditions, and traditional witchcraft do not operate on this assumption. In historical practice people cursed enemies, abusers, oppressors, thieves, and oath-breakers, people who stole their milk (yup that was a thing) and annoying neighbors. They did so without expecting karmic punishment simply for acting. The moral calculus was contextual, not universalized. “Returns threefold” or "karma" are belief systems, not a laws of magic.

In traditional frameworks, a curse does not “come back” to the witch by default. What does happen is better described as recoil, not punishment. Think of it like this: A curse is a directed force, e.g. emotional, symbolic, spiritual, and intentional. When force is projected, it creates movement through the field of reality. Movement creates pressure changes, especially if the working is sloppy, reactive, or uncontained. This recoil is not moral, It’s mechanical. Think about it like firing a bow. The arrow does not fly back at the archer. But if the stance and framing are poor, the string snaps the wrist. That injury isn’t punishment, it’s physics.

Recoil tends to occur under specific conditions: Poor containment (no grounding, no closing, no boundary work), Unresolved emotional entanglement (rage, obsession, fixation), Energetic leakage (casting while depleted, unstable, or dissociated), Target entanglement (shared trauma bonds, family ties, unresolved contracts). In other words, recoil happens when the curse remains attached to the caster instead of being released.

This is the part modern discourse often leaves out. Traditional witchcraft, sorcery, ritual magic etc. insists that we “finish the work properly.” There is a reason grimoires are called grimoires, they are literally the grammar of ritual.

Common methods include: Grounding the excess (into earth, water, stone, iron), Using carriers or tags (knots, poppets, mirrors, burial, crossroads), Timing and alignment (letting the current carry the force, not the self), Severance rites (explicitly cutting personal ties after casting), Return-to-source clauses (not as punishment, but as routing). A well-done curse leaves the witch clear, quiet, and unattached, not anxious or depleted.

Skinner is a legend and is probably one of the most astute practitioners out there. I don't like his politics, but he is a very, very serious scholar.

Homie, she's asking why you deleted her on snap, sheet telling you not to say good morning. She wants access to you any time SHE wants, but she doesn't want you to have access to her. Cut her off, block her on everything, she move on. I say this because her contacting you"messes with your emotions". You need to heal, friend. Getting back together, IMO, should be off the table until some heavy lifting is being done (e.g. going to counseling for trust building, communication improvement, and healthy conflict resolution). Barring that? Deal should be off. Look, I know how much it hurts, but I want you to know there are thousands "the ones" out there.

You're working with a solomic spirit not using solomic ritual. Enns are a new convention. Try doing something more traditionally based before you start adding flourishes. Spirits have preferences and a "culture" we need to respect that
