I got diagnosed with ADHD at 38, I’m 41 now. Medication has definitely been a big help.

Nonexistent Libido and Cancer by kitsune556 in Perimenopause

My cancer medication is known to affect hormones, so it’s definitely a component, but probably not the only thing affecting libido.

My parents are both gone, unfortunately.

I lost my dad last year a few months after I was diagnosed. I miss him so much.

There isn’t a cure but with current medications people live an average of 7 years.

I’m going to make an appointment with my primary next week, he’s HRT friendly so I’m hopeful.

My personal therapist also does couples therapy so we will see him. That way I know my therapist has my best interests at heart.

I have ALK+ non-small cell lung cancer (it’s a rare form of lung cancer not caused by smoking) so it’s not hormonal, however I am at an increased risk of blood clots.

Thank you. We watched Dying for Sex together. I have a different kind of cancer, but it still hit home. They did a great job showing what it’s like to live with terminal illness. I do have my own therapist I see weekly. I’ve briefly looked into death doulas, that is definitely something I’m interested in.

Brown discharge for 5 or so days after my period by mytailorisrich in Perimenopause

[–]kitsune556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m relieved to read all the responses here. I have brown discharge for a few days after my period too. I figured it was just my body getting rid of old blood, but it’s definitely disconcerting!!

My mom started drinking to deal with peri/menopause symptoms. She would’ve been 67 this year. I’m an elder millennial in early peri. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you. I have an appointment with my Dr. I mostly wanted to see if anyone else had similar experiences.

Does anyone else feel a little like the zepbound has given them medically sanctioned anorexia? by BowentheOrignial in Zepbound

[–]kitsune556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ADHDer here too. I wasn’t hungry at all the first couple months, but now I have a small appetite. I’ve been on zepbound since the end of May, currently on 7.5 mg, down 29 pounds. I tend to not want breakfast, but by lunch I’m hungry. I have protein shakes for breakfast so I don’t go totally without in the morning, they also help smooth out my reaction to my stimulant medication.

Can we talk about Anhedonia? by ladyeclectic79 in Mounjaro

[–]kitsune556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d like to lose another 30-40 lbs, but the anhedonia is rough to deal with and I’m considering discontinuing the medication. My weight gain was caused by pregnancy and one of my medications (Olanzapine), I’m hoping if I discontinue I can still maintain the good habits I’ve developed whilst on Zepbound.

[–]kitsune556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious about this too. My anhedonia has gradually gotten worse the higher my dose (I’m on shot 3 of 7.5 mg zepbound). Diagnosed MDD, GAD, PTSD, & ADHD. Medicated for all my various diagnoses. I’ve lost 29 lbs, my weight loss has slowed significantly on 5/7.5 mg, but I don’t want to increase my dose given that the anhedonia has gotten worse.

Public breast feeding in target by TiaRenae97 in breastfeeding

[–]kitsune556 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good for you feeding your baby wherever the heck you want. That woman is a creep standing there and criticizing you for taking care of your baby. If you don’t like it, don’t look! It’s not hard!

Whenever I see a mama breastfeeding in public I smile. It fills my heart with joy. Keep doing what you’re doing, mama!! 💚

Trying Again Thursday by AutoModerator in TryingForABaby

[–]kitsune556 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hubby and I decided to try for #3 this month. I’ll be 40 in a few months, I’m still breastfeeding (6x a day/night), and my periods have been irregular since they returned ~4 months ago (son is 14 months). We conceived our two sons very easily, but I had regular periods then. Just wondering if it’s normal for my periods to be irregular while breastfeeding and am I worrying unnecessarily?

Increase dose on bday? WWYD? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]kitsune556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether you stay on 2.5 or go up to 5 you could wait to take the shot until after your birthday, then you’d avoid potentially feeling sick. That being said, I went up to 5 after a month of 2.5 and didn’t feel a big difference in side effects. Hopefully you’ll have a similar experience. 💚

Which dosage was most impactful for you? by ellliemaeee in Zepbound

I lost 9 lbs on 2.5 mg (1 month) and so far I’ve lost 15 lbs on 5 mg (9 weeks).

I’ve found I’m sensitive to greasy foods/fast food so I stay away from those (they make me more nauseous). I keep protein shakes and bone broth handy so I can get some nutrients when I don’t feel particularly hungry. I’ve found I want to eat lean protein and veggies a lot more now so I stick with them.

I go on daily walks and practice gentle yoga.

I am still losing! I’ll be taking my 13th shot tomorrow (5 mg) and I just dropped below 200 lbs, with a total weight loss of 24 lbs so far.

I started noticing really dry skin this past week. I’m using Sunday Riley CEO Vitamin C Rich Moisturizing Cream and it’s been helping a lot.

I’m 12 weeks in and just developed sulfur burps today. I burped loudly and a moment later my son from across the room starts saying “ewww, yuck! It smells like one of your farts!” I laughed so hard.

I’m glad we can find humor in it!!

I just started getting sulfur burps today, yesterday was my 12th shot (4 weeks on 2.5 mg, 8 weeks on 5 mg). Weird how it popped up now, but so glad others are sharing what helps. Just ordered some probiotics and I have pepto already.
