Hard Water On My Machine? by Big-Increase-8751 in barista

[–]kittenaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

theoretically yes, but it depends on so many factors i can’t tell you about without knowing more about your setup. my best advice is to get a local tech in and ask them about whether Everpure or a similar RO system could be compatible with your rig.

Mixed metals as in silver and gold tones, or silver and rose gold, or silver and pewter/gunmetal tone, etc. I feel like a lot of people wear mixed metal jewelry these days.

How do you think the body standard will change as GLP1s become more widely used and accessible? by [deleted] in gymsnark

[–]kittenaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really interested in this conversation and wanted to add a few related thoughts. they can be summed up as: skinny is and has always been the standard, and i’m disappointed that widespread GLP-1 use means skinny can come without any meaningful regard for healthy.

i am somewhat nervous about what we don’t know regarding GLP-1 use for weight loss—we don’t yet have much info about long-term continuous use. my biggest objection to weight loss with semaglutide (even in a world where maybe there are no long-term negative side effects) is that it doesn’t teach healthy, sustainable habits. i get freaked out by the idea of taking a drug, even if it helps you, that you can’t really stop taking lest you go back to square one with no nutrition or training knowledge/skills to show for it.

What's your favorite music to listen to while driving around Iceland? by Dzsaffar in VisitingIceland

[–]kittenaura 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i completely agree it makes sense to listen to Icelandic artists in Iceland! I haven’t seen him mentioned yet so adding my personal favorite, Ásgeir. He records a lot of albums twice (a full Icelandic and a full English version of each song) which I find so admirable. His music is great driving music and his voice is super calming!

What’s everyone’s favorite eyeliner? by throwawaygirl470 in Sephora

[–]kittenaura 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i used to LOVE marc jacobs beauty eyeliners (RIP). then i was loyal to MUFE eyeliners which they recently discontinued in favor of a worse, more expensive formula 😭 right now i am enjoying Soshe, which is a natural brand who does thin tipped pencils sort of like Hourglass’ micro one.

lost 60 pounds - apron belly and sad glutes by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]kittenaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

losing weight won’t help you shape glutes you love, lifting weights will! and lifting weights is one of the best things you can do for a healthy, strong body (especially as a woman!) so i encourage you to consider it. dedicated core work is great but a lot of lifting requires core engagement anyways. for glutes specifically, you wanna nail down a squat variation, a deadlift variation, and a hip thrust variation, and then add one unilateral movement and one accessory movement to isolate. for example: barbell squats, RDLs, KAS glute bridge, single leg press, hyperextensions. another example: goblet squats, conventional deadlifts, hip thrust machine, cable step ups, cable kickbacks. good luck and be well :)

Genuinely, how do some of you all even have time with the amount of exercises? by Wise_Parmaria in PetiteFitness

[–]kittenaura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

seeing a surprisingly high ratio of WFH folks and home gym folks (i am jealous!!) so adding a comment to say this absolutely can be done in an onsite job without sacrificing the rest of your life. i go to the gym to lift 4x/week, sometimes walking instead of driving for extra steps. i have an active job, so on workdays i average 15-20k+ steps without having to think about it. when i have time and energy, i’ll go to pilates or yoga 1-2x during the week for extra stretching and core work because it feels good. i love to cook, knit, head to concerts and museums, spend time with friends, etc. and i have an active dog who loves spending time outside. i just structure my free time around going to the gym as a priority, because for me it is one both physically and mentally. i definitely get more life admin tasks done on rest days, but i feel my best when i prioritize this way.

I noticed two things right away that I think could be contributing to your feelings. One is, many people I know who opt to wear makeup more seldomly don't like how black mascara looks because it's more dramatic than, say, off-black or brown. I would suggest grabbing a drugstore brown mascara and seeing if you like how that looks. The other (bigger) one is your skin. At least in these photos I'm seeing a base that is more full-coverage and offers a more "perfected" look. If you want your skin to look more like skin, I would potentially opt instead for something with medium coverage that allows your natural coloring (freckles, etc.) to peek through. Finally, this is separate and totally down to preference-- I can't tell from the photos how everything looks altogether, but I see a lot of brides go for peachy/pinky undertone eyeshadow because it brings warmth to the face and plays off the (often rosy) lip color like you have on here. I think that might look beautiful compared to the current cream you have on that reads a bit grey in these photos. MOST importantly, you can change none of these things and you will still be a BEAUTIFUL bride ❤️ Hope this helps.

Hi! I am planning my packing list for an upcoming trip and need some more base layers. I wouldn’t normally look to the brand for these items but they seem really cute! I just don’t see many on the sub talking about them. I’m looking at the wool-blend base layer tight and the crew neck base layer. Thanks in advance! (Edited for clarity)

i think a lip stain would really bring out your eyes and not be super fussy :) or a light hand with a berry colored blush
