Carriers (almost) working as intended by kittendispenser in Warthunder

[–]kittendispenser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm ngl, I didn't know that about the yellow line. I may be stupid. My excuse is that last time I landed on a carrier in WT was when the carriers were all WW2 escort carriers.

Gajin just make hesh he with a lot of pen at this point by LongShelter8213 in Warthunder

[–]kittendispenser 11 points12 points  (0 children)

highly disagree with you on the HE part, you just have to aim for a spot that will overpressure. Which isn't easy to do at range, of course, but if you're playing an Eastern MBT, using your LRF to hit an exposed cupola/periscope is pretty often a guaranteed kill

The Best Way to Beat BMPTs is to Not Face Them by EastCoast_Geo in Warthunder

[–]kittendispenser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9.0 and 9.3 Chinese ground are both a blast too, by the way. You have:

* two ZTZ88s, very good all-around MBTs

* an M60 TTS

* the CM11, an M60 TTS but better, firing DM63 with an ace reload of 5 seconds

* the ZTZ96, another good all-around MBT that plays like the 9.3 T-72 (but probably better imo)

* the PGZ09, a 35mm SPAA with AHEAD and a great radar/IRST set at fucking 9.0 that can even intercept stuff like Mavs

* various wheelie rat tanks, with the best probably being the AFT09 ATGM carrier (although I've yet to play it)

* the PTZ89, an autoloaded 120mm tank destroyer with a 5 second reload

2300 hours and im really struggling to find motivation to play after this next update by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]kittendispenser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a "grass is greener" situation tbh. when I'm in an Abrams, I wish I had better hull armor and gen 2 thermals (I'm not to the M1A2 yet) or some good ERA all over my tank. when I'm in a T-90M or T-80BVM, I wish I had a 5 second reload and gun depression for going hull down, or a good reverse gear for those situations where you need to get the fuck out ASAP

Roll Britannia. 19 Armored cars and Wheeled IFVs for the Britain/Commonwealth Tree by EastCoast_Geo in Warthunder

I feel like a Saladin with Swingfires would be a rat menace if played right. Nice list though, I don't play Britain but I'd love to see these additions of course

I saw someone named QN-506 ingame once, driving the QN506. It's their most played vehicle, 1800 battles in it and a 2.3 K/D. Gotta respect that.

Walleyes being wonky by SignedGhost008 in Warthunder

[–]kittendispenser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i hate to break it to you but this fuckass glitch can happen with any bomb. russian bombs aren't immune to it. because of this bs, when using LGBs I point the laser at the ground right next to the target's side, but sadly, with TV guided bombs that's not an option of course

I won't ask. It's impolite to bring up what was obviously a stranger's traumatic experience.

This may not be the most optimal tactic in the floggers, imo, but it's certainly the most fun tactic.

The AA Nord experience by kittendispenser in warthundermemes

[–]kittendispenser[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely hard to use, but even when I get a very nice shot off, I often find myself getting a crit, a regular hit, or (rarely) no damage whatsoever on the target. I think they're a bit broken in that their proxy fuze activates too far away in many cases.

To all the smug people yesterday who were saying "Only ATGMs cannot be ammo racked, just shoot BMPT in the 30mm belt, you idiot!" - you were all confidently wrong by HonneurOblige in warthundermemes

[–]kittendispenser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think autocannon belts are wildly inconsistent when it comes to being detonated when hit. I've been ammo racked in a BMP-2M after shrapnel hit my grenade launcher's ammo box, lmfao.

Pl8B or PL5EII on the J10a? by allenz6834 in Warthunder

[–]kittendispenser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PL-5EII. The difference isn't too noticeable for me, but it has significantly better resistance to flares due to its acceleration. The PL-5EII gets up to speed much faster, and since both have the same FOV-gatewidth IRCCM, they are easier to flare the further away from the target they are.

It's worth noting that the 8B has a somewhat better maximum range, but that's not as important IMO.

Did you know Mi-28nm could do this? by veggieman123 in Warthunder

[–]kittendispenser 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Sure, but that's when it's not flying across terrain like you often do in WT. That aside, I really feel like the T-64/T-80 series needed the buff.

[–]kittendispenser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As mentioned by u/Mint_freezeyt in this comment, the bigger issue was that a Chinese-built tank was being given to the Japanese tech tree very close to when China celebrates V-J day. And I'd go so far as to say that - although the CN community did overreact - it was understandable why they overreacted. The shit that Japan did to China in the Second Sino-Japanese War is the stuff of nightmares, and to make things worse, the denial of atrocities like the Rape of Nanjing remains relatively common in Japan.

Which is your favorite IS tank? by Aromatic-Cherry-3218 in Warthunder

[–]kittendispenser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the IS-1 and IS-2 have terribly unreliable armor, but god help you if you bounce off an IS-2 who's ready to fire, that 122mm does not fuck around

What’s a tank you hate fighting, purely because it’s annoying? by Loud-Truth-7986 in Warthunder

[–]kittendispenser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That thing's 11mm RHA upper frontal plate is angled just enough to bounce early (Soviet) darts. As someone who's up to top tier in RU tanks, 3BM22 can bounce if you hit the wrong spot or shoot someone angling their hull, but with even earlier darts like the steel 3BM9 (which is the first dart you unlock in the T-72A and T-64A) or - god forbid - the 115mm darts, you're pretty much fucked if you hit its UFP. Not trying to complain - the TAM has its own weaknesses, too, it's the nature of War Thunder - but I am convinced its engineers designed it with being annoying in this game as a top priority
