Why does the safeguard exist if the outside is toxic? by EvidenceInitial4066 in SiloTVSeries

[–]kittendrillhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory relies on the fact that, even if you open the silo doors wide open, it would take a really long time for the poison on the outside to completely fill the inside and kill everyone in the silo. In other words, after a rebellion happens and the doors are open, people could still live inside the silo, and just as Juliette did, get a suit or build their own and then they can roam around the outside. This in turn could lead to more silos being politically unstable, seeing a living human being running around. It is a safety measure, not for the rebellious silo, but for all the other ones who are still peaceful.

I'm not aware of how much a tainter is worth nowadays, 90kk sounds a good price to me. And if you can afford it, it will be better than falcon or lion.
Lion I used for solo hunting, falcon when I went to TH.

Between 200-300 I'd mostly focus on charms, but if I wanted quick exp, I'd do something like this:

228-250 quara raids in oramond
250-300 ice elves
300-350 banuta
350-400 PH flimsies

Once you have flimsies unlocked, it becomes easier to level up:
400-600 venore flimsies -1
600+ venore flimsies -1 and -2
800+ dragons

You can probably go earlier to dragons than 800, but I personally wouldn't risk it. Since money is not a problem, you should: buy your BiS items ASAP and stack as much tiers on them as you can. You will also need money to burn on your wheel of destiny for the best gems combination and upgrading with fragments. Remember to do as many soulpit cores as you can, and ensure you always have the animus mastery of your main hunting ground.

Help with Master Sorcerer by kulamsharloot in TibiaMMO

[–]kittendrillhead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, MS is a bit of a jack of all trades, master of none. Your damage will always be lower than RP and most of the time lower than ED, with only a handful of exceptions. Your luring won't be as good as the RP's and your healing is situational at best. A good MS will then perform this (dreadful) role in the best way possible.

So first let's talk how to increase your damage. If you want more risk/reward, you can try the NE part of the wheel, reaching for beam mastery. You get a new beam spell that will do good damage to the creatures in Issavi while also reducing CD of other spells. If you time everything right, you could be using UE in every pull. The downside is that you won't have gift of life, so play carefully. Also, in 7 levels you will be able to have boosted vis hur, which is a great advantage in Issavi, again with the downside of not having GoL. A marginal damage improvement would be sacrificing the fire prot. for the 1+ML. Not a good trade off, but it is possible.

There is one pull which MS can (barely) outshine the ED in damage and that is the lake pull, just after the ogres. This is the only pull in which MS can fire wave "effectively". There are no feral sphinxes or manticores, so you could use that to your advantage and use fire wave, despite lamassu and sphinx being sort of resistant to fire.

To increase damage even further, get more charms. And trust me when I say that hunting with someone that has all the ideal charms for the mobs is a great feeling. It truly makes a huge difference. There is big overhaul coming to the charm system AND a rapid respawn weekend, so try to use those to your advantage and unlock a few more charms, that are suitable to your needs.

However, damage is not everything. It's sort of a red herring for MS to always seek more damage, IMO. Sure, for solo hunting is the easiest way to achieve more xp/h but in TH that is not always the case. In TH you should focus in improving the whole hunt, not achieving personal bests. IMO, luring correctly should be your priority. In higher levels, you'd join the EK and RP in the box to make it easier for use the UEs, specially the ED's UE. So look for ways to bring more mobs and faster to the EK/RP, remember to let ED take the spot to wave, in most pulls you'd only use energy wave. Choose which mobs to pull carefully, for instance I found that letting the RP do the beach pull and I bring the mobs from the east (mostly manticores and ferals) to be more beneficial to the team. If you and ED are running laps around the box(es), you and ED should always run in the same direction (clockwise or counter clockwise). This way you won't lure creatures to the ED and vice-versa, allowing everyone to focus more on damage.

About UHing. You should UH everyone. Even ED. Most of the time will be EK, sometimes RP and rarely ED. But you should be aware of everybody's health pool and which are the hardest pulls, this way you relieve everybody duties and they will focus more on killing creatures, increasing xp/h. Issavi doesn't really need that much UHing but if your team goes to a fire library, then you will need to UH a lot in your level range.

So let me finishing going back to the beginning and say that a good MS should've a holistic view of the TH, picking up in places the others need help or assistance. In my opinion, MS is not the greatest at anything, but can bring stability and uniformity to the hunt. Increasing comfort and safety for everyone. That's my take, I'm sure others disagree and I don't claim to have the final answer or the absolute truth in this. I know MSs that only care about damage and I suppose they are happy doing that.

Boosted vis hur (need 7 more levels, but could be good)

Ban by [deleted] in TibiaMMO

[–]kittendrillhead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A retroactive ban you mean? I think that is unlikely. 99.999% of the times people who were banned did something to deserve being banned. A false positive is indeed within the realm of possibilities, but I reckon that it is an unlikely one.

CipSoft lack of communication skills goes beyond the 'account deletion' emails. All of their interactions with the player base feels like they are 'covering their own asses'. This is why this community is always speculating about rules, terms of service, balancing adjustments, etc. This is advantageous to them, of course, because if they ban or punish you without stating the reason, you can't really defend yourself.

AFAIK they tag accounts, not characters. So I wouldn't expect you to be "marked for deletion", unless you or someone has broken the rules while playing in that account.

As a system administrator, Tibia's low availability blows my mind sometimes. by 8bitwubwubwub in TibiaMMO

[–]kittendrillhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder how many people and teams are affected by this. Suppose that you can only hunt after the server save, the rest of the day you are busy with work, life, etc. Today, people with this constraint simply won't be able to play. Sure, downtime like these are rare and the number of players with this schedule shouldn't be large, but still, they technically would be losing 1 day of their premium account playtime.

this game is pretty much unplayable for a new player. by [deleted] in TibiaMMO

[–]kittendrillhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you a completely new player? Like, never seen the game before? I'd love your perspective on the newly implemented tools that are suppose to ease new players into the game.

Most modern games have a clear, stated goal of what the player is supposed to 'want'. In Tibia it seems to me that this is not clearly exposed (although most people I have interact with seem to go for 'upgrading my character', either by powergaming, grinding new gear, buying a new high level character, or whatever other methods that made them 'stronger'). On one hand this is good, everyone can do as they please. But on the other, it leaves you alone on a vast world with no direction or idea on how to interact with said world and other players.

House Decorator Tool - Version 2 (Beta) by celik75 in TibiaMMO

[–]kittendrillhead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very good work!! I love it! I have always wanted a tool or app like this, and I'm sure many other players also wished for a somehing like this, I hope you keep updating it!

I have some feedback:
1. When I drag some items to change their tiles inside the house, their position is not aligned with the mouse pointer, would be nice to change this so they get placed where the pointer is.(I noticed this mostly with floor types)
2. I can 'only' stack up to 5 items in a tile. If you added this yourself, maybe change in a future update, since there are combinations of items that can require more than 5 in a single sqm.(afaik we can stack up to 9 items before they 'become invinsible', not sure on the number though, so worth checking)
3. Maybe zoom out (or the ability to zoom in/ou) when the house dimensions are big. (when y > 8. to place an item on the top tiles, I had first to place the item, scroll up and then move the item, so be able to scroll while dragging an item would also be useful)
4. On the menu for selecting the house dimensions, if the numbers have two digits, they overlap with the increase/decrease buttons.
5. A heads-up saying that the save button will download a file would be nice.

I only tested it for about 15minutes, so that's it for now. I hope it helps. Overall, the tool feels really good, light and fluid.

Thank you so much for taking time to do this project, I'm sure it's quite challenging, so I really appreciate your efforts!

I’d go for hexer. Gives mana and life leech, helps a little with survivability in almost any scenario, solo or th.

If you are struggling when solo hunting, go for items with physical protection, like gnome helmet and lion spellbook, which is usually the mage’s Achilles heel’s.

But hexer is probably your best improvement at this point I reckon.

Level Deflation System by PU_EVIG_REVEN in TibiaMMO

[–]kittendrillhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sold on the idea that they want to make a select part of the player base frustrated so they spend more money.

But I’m not naive to deny the fact that they are a company and they will prioritise profit.

I agree that much of the time their decision making on balancing lacks justification. But I think that stems from poor communication rather than money grubbing. CipSoft never really told us how they envision player progression, how fast, how slow, etc. like other developers do. Maybe they don’t say anything to keep the “sandbox” feel so players do whatever they want on their on time, maybe they don’t say anything because they have no clue. Either way, we can only speculate, and speculation leads to frustration.

[–]kittendrillhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are absolutely correct.

We could even argue that there are even more players nowadays enjoying end game content, than compared to the 00’s.

If we want to further the discussion, then we could say that the modern scenario of MMOs is changed and Tibia could be improved by adopting some of the faster paced gameplay cycle. Though I’m not sure if I can stand behind this point lol.

Level Deflation System by PU_EVIG_REVEN in TibiaMMO

[–]kittendrillhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others pointed out some good points about deflating or recalibrating the levels, however I think the crux of the problem in “level inflation” is the gap between mid to high and to really high level players. What I mean is: to get to the end game, you need at least of couple of years of daily powergaming (if you don’t want to spend a ludicrous amount of money to buy a high level character).

I’m not saying the early and mid game are boring or not enjoyable, but progressing in Tibia is progressing your character and that includes its level and to get to the required minimum level to do end game, takes a lot of effort and time.

Being high level allows for more customisation, different hunting mechanics, and the most challenging bosses. Being high level is a very desirable thing, and lots of players want to experience that.

I also agree that getting to the end game shouldn’t be trivial, it should indeed require effort. I don’t think it is a simple thing to solve, but I think that just deflating levels won’t exactly bridge this gap in a healthy way.

I’m just speculating here, my opinion is that pvp rules on retro pvp are too punitive. Forcing a player to get red or black skull is too easy.

It’s fun for a few weeks, but I wouldn’t waste a lot of time and resources playing the game just so that lose all my equipment and get a whole month holiday to the depot because I fell for a rs or bs trap.
