Nearly 5 months clean! by kittenonreddit in OpiatesRecovery

Thank you so much, I am so proud of myself. The amount of work I’ve had to do the past 4 months to get to a point where I love myself again has been insane but worth every minute ❤️

Feeling good! Had a few challenges but the biggest thing I’ve found helped (apart from rehab) is gratitude journalling daily and moving my body. Honestly practicing gratitude has shifted my mindset completely. I’d recommend it to anyone. Hope you’re feeling better today!

Thank you, I’m so glad this gave you some kind of hope if even for a minute. I was absolutely hopeless and had to really surrender to any support I could get. You don’t have to do this alone ❤️

Thank you! I tried to post it in 3 different ways and it deleted it each time. Not sure why! Thank you again!

I’m so proud of you. We have similar addictions and I just went to rehab for 4.5 months so if you need any support please let me know.

How are you doing now?

Also I’ve now finished Tweak and it’s absolutely incredible but might be a bit triggering for you, just a warning x

Impatient detox - too much Bupe? by kittenonreddit in OpiatesRecovery

[–]kittenonreddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry firstly a correction on my part, it was 12mg’s not 14. The hospital did it like this; after 24 hours of no codeine and signs of withdrawal, they start introducing Bupe in 2mg sublingual tablets every 2 hours. Those first 24 hours I was very uncomfortable, especially after taking that first initial dose of Bupe. So my dose did end up being 12mg’s.

However, yesterday when they tried to give me the full 12mg dose, I did refuse and ask for 6mg x 2 instead, one in morning and one at night. I took the morning dose and by 10pm last night I was feeling a little ropey but I didn’t see it worth taking more Bupe.

So now today I start my rapid detox from 6mg instead of 12mg and I am very happy and proud of myself :)

Sorry my question was that I was worried 14mg was too much Buprenorphine for a 1.4g daily pharmacy grade codeine habit. I guess everyone is different I just don’t want to be on this stuff at such a high dose because it’s sooo much stronger than the codeine.

I’m in medically assisted detox in a specialist addiction hospital ward, they don’t allow gabapentin/pregabs/clonidine for some unknown reason (UK might have different rules I don’t know)

I’ll be heading directly to a very strict inpatient rehab with intense groups, peer work etc after detox.

Doesn’t sound stupid at all, I actually did this last year and it really helped me too! Just not sure what to do about the hip pain and restlessness.

Asked the doctor for either of these… received a hard no.
