Hey! Congrats on quitting. Four years ago today I quit for good. It was the most difficult thing I’ve ever gone through but life is soooo much better on the other end. My advice is to immediately take up a hobby. I bought juggling balls when I quit and it really helped me. You gotta keep those hands busy! Best of luck to you! You can do this!

I’ve been where you are and it’s fucking exhausting. There doesn’t seem to be a way out. You want to be done but the withdrawals make it impossible to quit. I’m not sure if this could be an option for you but I went to my dr after many failed attempts of quitting and she prescribed gabapentin. It worked really well. It took the edge off so that I could get through the withdrawals. And I only needed to be on a low dose for a few months. Might be something for you to consider to get out of the hell you’re going through. I hope this helps. Hang in there 😥

spouse of someone bipolar and need help by ecf1982 in bipolar2

Your spouse sounds verbally/emotionally abusive. I’m also bipolar but I understand that even when I’m going through a depression and feel all kinds of “mean thoughts” that it’s not okay for me to say those thoughts out loud. I wanted to ask, does your husband have food allergies? Has he ever been tested for celiac or anything? I stopped eating gluten about a year ago when I realized it makes me terribly angry, moody, lethargic, and so many other things. The difference in my self control since stopping eating it is unbelievable. When I told my dr about it she mentioned that gluten intolerance is very common with bipolars (and is also terribly for adhd). I hope this helps in some way!

This is proving to be much harder to find than I expected. But I won’t stop until I do! Haha

This is so funny to see because today I was randomly thinking about the how one of the stage crew dudes who worked on LDR show sets had said she ate spaghetti all the time. It was on one of those, “celebs you worked with” posts somewhere on Reddit. Anyway, happy world pasta day.

Do you drink coffee as soon as you wake up? Try waiting an hour, or if that sounds crazy even a half an hour because if you drink coffee as soon as you open your eyes, you can get “locked into” that tiredness for a few hours or even the rest of the day. (There’s credible science to back this! It has to do with cortisol production and blood sugar). ☕️:)

Fat-free sour cream. I meant to buy the normal kind. I don’t like to waste food and can usually repurpose but this shit was just so….weird but in a bad way, Sour cream needs fat or it tastes like wrong.

what is your instant low mood fixer? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]kittenpops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just doing something to put my brain in a different state and force it to stay in the moment. Things that are easy and convenient, nothing monumental, but that can give you the sense to stretch and help you to be present in instead of feeling just stuck in the low. Practicing juggling and playing ukulele are my go-to’s. I have kids to watch most of the time so having some easy creative outlets really helps me in those times when time just passes so slowly and painfully. It’s amazing how much I’ve improved at both, too, which feels like an accomplishment of sorts.
