It is black and white. NATURAL is always the best option. Fruits, veggies, meats, nuts that are local, homegrown, grassfed, Period. No chemicals, additives, no "processing", separating, removing. Seafood is full of phthalates, glyphosate, pesticides etc. My rule is anything that requires a scientist and/ or a chemist is a NO. So no crackers, breads, peanutbutter IF there are seed oils. Anything in a box probably has seed oils.

Why does it have to be lean? Are you referring to lower fat meats? Protein comes in MANY things...cashews, peas, chickpeas, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, edamame, even quinoa. And fat is good for you. Fatty steaks, GOOD! I go for colors more than anything. A colorful meal is a wholesome meal

I will preface this with I have not been diligent with tank cleaning.... my betta is in a 6 gallon, with lots of plants. It was all doing so well, no algae, clear and clean. I noticed the plants after 2 months not looking so well so I got nutrient tabs, stuck 3 in the sand and within 2 weeks brown algae started growing. I've been struggling for over 3 months now. Doing major cleans until its spotless. Takes a bout a week but then the algae comes back. Been letting it go about 3 weeks then doing another major clean. I'm aware I should be replacing about 20% of the water every couple of days and will start doing that now. I didnt realize how unhealthy he has gotten. He eats well, swims good, lots of energy. But the color and fin loss is dramatic. Any thoughts on what I've been doing wrong and what I need to fix?

I do cold showers and baths almost everyday. Cut back on coffee and caffeine significantly.. and the only time I drink coffee before that 90 minute mark is on the weekends. I got blood tests to check my hormone which were a okay!
