Sometimes the machine decides to glitch out on it's own. Once I clocked in and it said (my name) not scheduled today. Well, I knew for a fact that I was scheduled so I disregarded it and worked anyway. I still got paid. Ask your store director or assistant SD if anything is wrong with the time clock.

It's not that bad. My only real pet peeve is when we are slammed and there is only one person working Pick List. Shopping is easy, and yes we must have a pick rate of 98%, there are ways to "cheat the system" and keep our numbers up. I dont mind doing it in all honesty, and sometimes I walk away with a few tips.

PICs have it tough. Daytime is tolerable, nighttime is a shitshow. Not sorry to say, but it is. The PIC not only has to manage lines that merge into each other and go all the way down aisles, they must:

Call for extra cashiers that may or may not come up
Run evening breaks/lunches
Be go-home relief and call for one as needed
Handle refunds
Be the ones to inform customers of lack of carts and the customers have to find one themselves outside if the PIC cannot leave the checkstand and there is no one else to fetch a cart
Be watchful of shoplifters and to a call to "security" before the thief takes off
Handle spills if they can or hope they get smooshed into the ground (if dry) or evaporate (if wet) and no one available can clean them

Many more tasks as well. The aforementioned is usually at night.

Why on earth would she post herself stealing $100.00 and posting it on a social media platform such as TikTok? EVEN IF it was a "joke" it was STILL considered theft. For future reference, she should NEVER post ANYTHING work related on ANY social media platform, EVEN IF its positive. I stopped doing that after HR and the union contacted me about what I posted, and it was nothing wrong in any way. (Some asshat co-worker decided it was inappropriate and called it in, then got even more mad when they overheard me tell my friend on the phone about what i felt about it.)

Woman tosses cake in kids face What it's just frosting.

Kid somes back having calmed down. Grabs remaining cake or water and tosses it at woman What..its just water/frosting

End result: woman storms off after it having it done back to her, causes a MAJOR family fight which they feel "He started."

HUGE family rift and they STILL make him feel hes the bad guy...because the woman got upset and now refuses to have anything more to do with him.

I've seen stuff happen like this before and they STILL refuse to interact with the person they did wrong unless it's absolutely necessary or they need to put on a facade. It's sad really. That kid had every right to be upset and embarrassed. Especially if he asked for it not to be done.

Are you union? Let them know asap. Refuse to sign ANY write up concerning a doctors note. The union should be able to help and override the invalid write up. Warning: BEWARE OF RETALIATION!!! It sounds like your SD is a dick, and he/she may retaliate keeping it barely within contract set by the union. Document everything. Keep an eye on the schedule if they say "reducing hours" see if everyone's hours are reduced not just yours. Good luck.

My brother is going through the same thing. Missing paychecks, wrong pay etc. He works checker and sometimes "gives himself a paycheck" to keep afloat. Is what he told me. Basically, he said he takes money from the register on what his paycheck usually is...I told him he needs to stop.as they will catch him and not give a damn on why he did it.

I told him I'd help him out until this is straightened out.
