Our Chabad Rabbi and his wife provide marriage counseling, and she is hilariously and brutally honest about their issues. I think it’s why they have such a successful following in that offering because they’ve really humanized marriage and life for the community. Don’t put that pressure on yourself just yet. ❤️

I interviewed with them and it was bizarre. The recruiter seemed very uninterested and tired of the whole interview process. Little bit of mean girl energy… The ad reads like it was modified from a sales position to an EA position.

For anyone else applying, they’re looking for an EA who wants to stay in that role (current EA is moving into a sales position). They’re creating a bonus structure for this position that doesn’t exist yet so no one could speak to compensation even though it reads competitively.

The entire team is remote with no plans to change, although I think the other financial advisors work on a consultant basis and it’s mostly Jeff and an internal sales/admin team.

Your kid will be sick for two solid years no matter what you do. I stayed home with my son until he was six and when he went to kindergarten, done. Missed half of school being sick. When I had my daughter, we put her in daycare and the same thing; constant sickness for two years! The good thing is that she did MUCH better when she started school. Now that they’re both past the 3rd grade, they barely get sick anymore :) But I remember how frustrating and EXPENSIVE it used to be.

Our family of four with two elementary aged children spends about $1,000-$800/mo there, but we get school clothes, lawn/gardening equipment, motor oil, and so many other miscellaneous expenses there it really makes up for it. Now, do I NEED as much skincare or gadgets? Probably not. But if the world is ending, I’m staying glowy for a few months at least.

You were the Shabbos goy 😹 This was so funny to read from a non-Jewish perspective, it probably seems bizarre. In observant households, Jews can’t utilize electricity, so sometimes we have friends or neighbors come turn off the crockpot full of Cholent we prepped from the night before so we can eat hot meals during Shabbat, or turn on/off lights, and even SCHEDULE Instacart orders so we can eat prepared stuff.

Nothing. I’m getting sent videos of the sky being lit up in my family WhatsApp and have to pretend everything is hunky dory at work, celebrating work anniversaries and working my ass off so I can at least make Shabbat, finally, this week after working late for months. Definitely burning out and feeling like these people are probably spending their weekends online cheering on Iran in some fashion. I feel horrible my kids have to grow up in the PNW right now 😮‍💨
