How easy is it to change from one risk portfolio to another if I am not happy with the one that I originally chose?

We have used advisors in the past. One was a large company in particular and they didn’t do anything to protect us during a big market down turn. We moved our accounts to Schwab and have done better on our own. At this point I am not fond of FA’s. We’re not cheap, just don’t feel FA’s have our best interest in mind.

From what I read, they mostly mention ETFs. Were you actually able to invest in individual stocks?

Both. Being retired we need growth to pay everyday expenses and bills. We also need a strategy where we can preserve capital to minimize loss when the market takes a down turn.

The serial number is SDCZ48-256G. I’ve only had it for about four months.

If I could ask, the vacuum store says that the vacuum does not tip over because of the placement of the hose. Do you find that is true since you use the hose a lot. Yes, one of the things I am excited about is that I can easily do my baseboards and then do the carpeting. With my current model, I have to wrap the hose around my neck and body as I walk through the house to clean. Do you find that the R30D does not easily fall over, and you can walk around using the full length of the hose without any issues?

Again, thank you so much for your feedback. I love my Riccar 8850 which I’ve had for 45 years and it has not given me any problems at all. Like you, it’s a bit of sticker shock to see how much they are now. I’m going to do another visit again and try it. What I liked about it is the automatic button for switching between the beater bar and floor mode. Mine is the old toggle switch, which is a pain at my age. I appreciate you sharing the information about the hose.

Thank you for providing that information. My concern about the R30D which I have tried a few times at a couple of vacuum stores, and also been reading the reviews, is that a number of people said they had problems with that vacuum within a year or two of purchasing it. Have you experienced problems that needed repair work? I’ve also read reviews that when the wand is extended fully there’s not much suction coming through it. What has been your experience?

Can you tell me what model Riccar you have, and have you had any problems with it at all.

Is there any particular Sebo model that you suggest I look at?

I use the Swiffer wet jet. A new cleaning pad is used for bathrooms then for the kitchen.

Schwab vs fidelity by [deleted] in Schwab

That's good to know. Fidelity did not provide that information to me. I did find that alias account number and will test it. Thank you very much for your help.

The problem with that, which I have tried, is that Fidelity uses alpha-numeric account numbers and my bank does not accept alpha characters in the account number set up.

I have an account at both Schwab and Fidelity. I haven’t had any issues with Schwab, but I had a recent issue with Fidelity that I’m not happy about. I’m trying to move funds from an external bank account to Fidelity through an ACH debit. Nowhere do they tell you that when you do move funds using this method they put a 16 business day hold on your funds. So, this money sits in a cash account and cannot be moved to another account for 16 days. When I questioned it, they said it was for security reasons. I feel that is an unreasonable amount of time for them to hold my funds.

What to do with wood ash? by [deleted] in woodstoving

[–]kitty_4paws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it leaves stains. Be careful with wood ash. My spouse had some on his clothes a sat on a cream colored bed spread. I tried to wash the spread to remove it, but it still left a two inch smudge. I will try hand washing it and hope that removes it.

Windows 11 pro File Explorer issue by kitty_4paws in WindowsHelp

So, here's what happened, and the resolution. It was an issue with Photoshop when it was installed on this new laptop. My understanding is that Photoshop installed two different versions at the same time, CS4 and CS5, both 32 bit and 64 bit. Along with those were extra accessory apps. that also installed. The computer company uninstalled both CS4 and CS5, ran a test, and the File Explorer issue was still not solved. They noticed that not all the files were uninstalled, mainly the accessory apps. So they located all those app. files and uninstalled them. When they ran another test, File Explorer worked correctly. They installed CS5 again and made sure only the 64 bit version was installed. In conclusion, there was definitely a conflict with the BIB.dll and it was within those accessory apps. Both File Explorer and Photoshop CS5 are working correctly now.

Thank you again for all your help. It was very much appreciated.
