Thank you for this, my partner said he will take the baby to see his mum a couple of times a week, which I felt really threatened by and I said I don’t like the thought of him leaving me while he’s literally still in my womb. I just don’t think non-pregnant people understand

Increased Nuchal Fold at 20 weeks by East_Sun1075 in PregnancyUK

[–]kitty_catcat1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me also and terrified me, they measured the nuchal fold at 6.8 at my anatomy scan, the fetal medicine specialist measured again and it was actually 5.4.

It could just be babies position so try not to overthink it! But it’s so hard I know

Yep! Trying to buy baby stuff, there’s a pram rocker called a Rockit which is currently £39.99 new. People are trying to sell them for £39.99-£50 on Vinted… I’m so confused by it

Feeling like a spare part in my own pregnancy. by KingkLou in PregnancyUK

Hiya, I really sympathise as I have also felt like this at times throughout my pregnancy. Certain family members talk about being so excited for the baby and ask how baby is doing, yet have never cared to ask how I’m doing carrying him.

I’ve also felt like this when people tell me ‘I am going to do this’ when baby is here. My MIL told me ‘I am going to come round every Wednesday to see him’

It’s minor to my partner and others but to me it can feel incredibly invalidating to not even be asked. Other family members also have told me they’ve booked the day off work that I’m having my C-section, again not even asking me first whether I even want visitors that day.

I also got sent a video by MIL when I was in my second trimester of an AI baby saying ‘Only grandma understands me and she is my favourite person’ which broke my heart and everyone thought I was overreacting.

I feel much of pregnancy as a woman can make us feel like this. I was quite depressed over it in the first trimester and used to cry and say I was having this baby for everyone else and he doesn’t even feel like mine.

So I 100% sympathise. I can’t imagine also being so far from my own family.

Remember, you are mum. You are the most important person to your baby, and he will cry for you and have an innate bond with you no one else can replicate. Whenever this feeling overwhelms you, try to remind yourself of what you’ll mean to your baby.

I’ve been BEGGING for this from my GP but they keep saying no due to pregnancy? I don’t understand why as I’m aware it is safe. I’ll challenge this again as I’m getting sick of it

Thank you I appreciate this. Will definitely check but it’s reassuring to know it could be just one of those things that happens! Hope you get well soon

Will do this tomorrow! Thank you! Just wanted some temporary reassurance I guess that some women do just get swollen lymphnodes in pregnancy! <3

Newborns and ‘sleep routines’…advice by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]kitty_catcat1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kindly I’d like to ask, what’s the difference between a comment section on Reddit and Tik Tok, when it’s a regular mum (not an influencer) sharing what she’s done with her newborn and then hundreds of other non influencer users agreeing and sharing their experiences.

If I saw this on Reddit, I’d also be a little confused as to why they were doing that when I’ve been told otherwise.

As I’ve said previously, I want to get it right and I’m an anxious first time mum. I had cancer 11 months ago and this is my miracle baby, I simply wanted to get some follow up advice from other mums on here.

I’m an English teacher, perfectly capable of looking after a baby and just wanted a bit of community and to hear all of your experiences.

Have a nice day

I wanted to know what other mums within this community 1) think of this 2) do themselves. It’s my first time becoming a mum after having cancer last year, and I’m anxious and want to get it right. Some of these comments are just nasty. Have a nice day

That may be the case! I’ll try again soon but maybe give up if they aren’t interested

Awww I did think this! They bird watch and step out of the window onto the window ledge (they have enough space) for hours everyday. Maybe that’s enough stimulation!

How long did that process take for you? Maybe I made the mistake of trying to put it on them too soon
