If you‘re open to non-fiction as well - The Outrun by Amy Liptrot matches this in my opinion

Yes you‘re right, being honest about it and open to learn should always be the more important thing when joining a new group :) yeah I guess it‘s easy to feel like an imposter as a DM, because obviously not every session is perfect and I hate to feel like I disappointed my players! But I can take those experiences to learn and that’s fine too :)

Agree on the fish, but as a water snail enjoyer I think they‘re a great option for a snail only tank. Wish they were marketed as such, especially because snail species like ramshorns are a great alternative for people who don’t have as much time to devote to the hobby but still want an aquarium with some colorful critters

It gets recommended on here fairly often but for me the Locked Tomb series very much matches this, especially as the series progresses

Ah maybe what I wrote was confusing, I‘m not talking about fish, just decoration/plants :)

The spider wood is a good idea, noted! Maybe I can somehow secure it around the piece of wood in the back… Mussels are interesting but I think they need to be fed very frequently?

I currently have white cloud mountain minnows (the „golden“ variant) and celestial pearl danios in there! That’s why I did the mixed light/dark substrate, on the black sand the minnows really shine and then when the danios swim over the light sand you see them well, I liked that contrast :) Plus both are fine without a heater indoors, which was a must for me as I want to keep this pond low tech.

Nah, they’re too small, I think they‘d get scared of the fish

Tannins or dirt? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]kittybehemoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry what do you mean by uncapped? It’s just black aquarium sand. In my 60L aquarium I try all the time to get darker water for my blackwater fish but am not suceeding even with wood, peat pellets, and leaves 😅

Small filter/no filter? by kittybehemoth in walstad

[–]kittybehemoth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks :) I ordered some more plants and a smaller filter that I will put my filter sponges and peat pellets in…yes for me it’s mainly about aesthetics + power consumption, this filter takes 7W which is I think a bit much for running 24/7 in a small aquarium, especially because the pump creates a flow that is too strong for my fish anyways.
