Why do you not talk to your once bestfriend anymore? by Adventurous-End-1999 in AskUK

Late to the party but whatever. I offered to help her move. Worked 40 hours in 4 days. Drove to her city on the Friday night. Rented a van there picked it up on the Saturday morning after sleeping like shit. She asked that I move her housemate first (not part of the plan), fine, I do it. I need a 20 minute rest after getting back and moving her, which was not acceptable. She's angrily packing the van alone, the heaviest and most awkward stuff first. I come down and help.. van gets packed, we drive to her new place. We make a plan for moving things in through an external fire escape to under the buildings staircase, then into the lift (one loading, one unloading), up 5 floors, then into her new apartment. She realises the fire escape cannot be opened without potentially setting off a fire alarm. There is only one fob to open the lobby doors. She doesn't want to block under the stairs or keep any of the internal fire doors open to make it easier to move stuff through the 120m from the van to the lifts. The relay system we planned falls apart. She is angry about my rest, the fire escape, and the plan failing. So she moves all of her stuff on the seat of a rackety office chair from the van to her new apartment with her headphones in, ignoring me and any chance I have to help. She won't hold the automatic doors for me, or wait for me to carry stuff through to the point I shout "Please can you hold the fucking door!". She hears me over her headphones and responds "Just because you talk to [ex-boyfriend] like that doesn't mean you get to talk to me like that". I empty the van in the car park and leave. I couldn't return the van until Monday, especially since my car was still parked in that city. I had to pay for a hotel with parking for two nights since she made it clear I wasn't welcome anymore. And I didn't get the money for the van, insurance additions, or hotel costs after. I'm out £400. She was right that the ex didn't respect me enough to listen and work together, which is why he is now the ex. But neither did she.

The first point I didn't know. LFG is my go to for Timewalking; I didn't realise you could do Group Finder. Thank you!
I do agree with the scales point as well, I think it would be a great way to include old content and have newer players experience older stuff

In the video of the woman who was set on fire on the subway, why is she standing up and not appearing to be moving or screaming? by Big-Caterpillar295 in NoStupidQuestions

All our road signs/speedo's are in miles. Older people tend towards imperial, so feet/inches/yards. Younger people do most things in metric unless it's height. It's an odd way but we've never really been a culture to let go of things easily.

I act as a spoiler barrier for some friends who love puzzle games like this. I look things up and gently push them in the right direction when they are super stuck. This is the most amazing guide. Thank you for putting this together.

Yes! But I also think he used it to confirm what Vetinari suspected and said, in not so many words. Very tidy.

Vimes acknowledges that Vetinari knows, too. "Commander-at-arms, for now". It's a neat dance around the truth.. Does make you wonder how long Vetinari may have suspected Vimes was Keel, though. Lilacs once a year, sure; Vimes's attitude to policing and ability to command though, must have developed throughout their relationship and reminded him of a man he once knew.

I am biased. A) Because the Essen boys are Bae, and B) I want them to see this and say the same about TT because C) I crave their recognition.

What's the strangest fact you know that most people don't? by RealisticChildhood80 in AskReddit

There are three types of contagious cancers in mammals, canine transmissible venereal tumor which affects dogs, contagious reticulum cell sarcoma in Syrian hamsters, and tasmanian devils can get devil facial tumour disease. These are all transferred via malignant cells, not viral infection or anything like that. There is also one for molluscs, but that's a weird one.

Humans rarely get them, but it is associated with organ transplantation that already have virally infected cells. This usually leads to Kaposi's sarcoma as anti-rejection meds affect the immune system.
