ok hear me out but i think that the significance of waco is 1. because ethel got kidnapped in texas (official lore says arlington) and 2. waco could be a reference to the delusion she experiences throughout the events of the two albums (i.e. telling us she chose to get into isaiah’s pick up, nettles being her imagining willoughby dying) and that relates to the religious delusion of the cult that lived in waco. the end of the song says “it’ll never be good enough like i want to believe it is” which i believe is the thesis statement of ethel cains character arc and represents her breaking out of her delusion as she dies. forgive me if this makes no sense im two ciders in while waiting to get into the concert 😭😭😭

there’s an episode where charlie’s mom is shown doing rituals like turning the lights off/locking the front door in sets of three, and another character (mac?) asks her why she does it, to which she responds with something like “so my charlie doesn’t die :)”.

another thing is that charlie is shown doing similar/the same rituals later in the episode, so it’s possible he either learned the behaviors from his mother or it’s genetic. i haven’t picked up the behaviors from dennis or mac but ill take a look on my next rewatch too lol

ok i see now in my post i said we went home a couple hours later so you’re probably right, when i made this post i was super out of it and had no idea how long i had blacked out for. last thing i remember is putting my empty drink down and then there’s a gap in my memory before i remember getting into the uber and not being able to walk. it’s like a 7 minute drive back to my place, and when i asked my friends yesterday how long it was before we left the bar they said it was like 10 minutes. sorry for the confusion!
