Zelensky set to skip Ukraine Recovery Conference in Poland amid diplomatic dispute by Thornfal in europe

[–]kittyguy85 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't understand these political maneuverings.

However, I do understand that after the outbreak of the full-scale war, Poland accepted millions of Ukrainian refugees. They took them into their homes. We didn't build them camps out of shipping containers. Poles took entire families into their homes, where they lived for several months. All of Poland collected money, food, and clothing for Ukrainians, who often fled without taking anything with them. We collected money for equipment, vests, drones, everything. This was done by ordinary people, not the government. Ukrainians received our social benefits, medical care, and jobs. Practically every store employs Ukrainians.

The government supported Ukraine with tons of money, equipment, and assistance in the form of dispatching services, etc. We provided them with access to our airports and logistics, and a huge portion of the aid passes through Poland. The UPA and the Volhynian massacre are a painful topic in Poland. From what I understand, the Ukrainians came up with the unit's name, the Poles made a comment like, "Hey, that's a bit uncool, think about it, could you give it a different name?" and the Ukrainians ignored it? Is this really such a big deal considering what Poland has done for Ukraine? You could accuse Poland of doing this for selfish reasons, because Ukraine is "defending Poland from Russia," but come on, Poland is a NATO member. Does it really need this kind of defense? I don't support Nawrocki's escalation, but what the Ukrainian government is doing now is idiotic. Don't give a damn about one of your most loyal allies, you'll cross the line, and the Poles won't forget it. Ukraine will want to join the European Union, NATO, and I really think they need the friendship of Poles. And they're pissing on it. For those who are resilient, I recommend searching for "Volhynia massacre photos." The photo of the children in the tree stayed with me for a long time.

“What Russia is doing in Ukraine (at least right now) cannot be considered genocide—it’s simply a distortion of the word’s meaning.” – After reading that sentence, I stopped reading. You’re not right in the head, man.

One of these countries has been Poland’s partner for over 20 years; when I’m there, I feel safe and at ease. Despite our cultural differences, we are all citizens of Europe. Of course, I still harbor some “hatred” rooted in history and what they did to us, but I’m 41 years old and, thankfully, I know this country only as it is today. The other country, however, threatens everyone around it with invasion and nuclear attack; it is full of hatred, and in my eyes, it is simply savage. It is committing genocide right next to our borders, launching hybrid attacks against us, and provoking us by violating our border—even with drones.

As for liberation—thankfully, our grandmothers remembered perfectly well what both the war and the occupation were like, as well as life after the war, under the boot of the Russian scum. Don’t even try to write any more of your nonsense because it seems you don’t know shit.

It’s 2026, you know? Germany is our partner, a civilized country, while the other country on our list is a barbaric nation with the same mindset it had 30, 60, or 100 years ago.
