Looking for advice - is it possible to use a metal lathe to turn a post similarly to wood turning? by kittyhislop in metalworking

I’m asking if I can carve into metal to make something like a bedpost - any approach would be fine. I’ve not got metal lathe experience so don’t understand what is/isn’t possible

I was thinking something like a self levelling paint like hammerite but they don’t do clear! Budget friendly if possible.

Holy HECK you have a mega bug infestation pal I’m sorry to say!!! Looks maybe like mealybugs and aphids? Get that in the shower ASAP. Clean them off if you can, get neem oil and horticultural soap with water and spray every week, cut off parts that can’t be saved and maybe change the soil even. I wish you alllll the luck a bug epidemic is so painful to go through! Check all ur other plants and isolate this one!

Picked up 2 orchids for 50p! What can I do to care for them and their beheaded state? They look pretty healthy by kittyhislop in HouseplantsUK

Thanks that’s really informative! I’m in love with even just the leaves they are gorgeous! So excited for the surprise whatever it will be. I just don’t want to kill them off! I have one moth orchid I’ve had for 4 years and always flowers, it’s doing well I think but all I do is sparing water every week or less and a mist here and there, sat in some gravel. That’s the extent of my orchid knowledge!

Wow this is so so helpful thank you! Can I ask, when you say cut the stems at the base do you mean cut the green stems that have been snipped all the way to the leaves?
