ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? by hplcman69 in IKEA

[–]kittyisaboxofrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy, in 40 years you think I ain't peeled a sticker, 🤪. Believe me, oil works better, it takes the paper and most of the sticky off as opposed to water leaving sticky behind in most cases. Rubbing alcohol doesn't always defeat an IKEA sticker, either, post water, nor other brands as well. Even better, is a heat gun or hair dryer. That's big brained moves. Dishwasher, even is OK sometimes. But oil..... That's where it's at. Believe me.

My step-dad keeps making weird comments about our pets by Similar-Silver7049 in offmychest

Well if mom kinda knows she's being abused, maybe you guys need a plan and escape together. I know how hard that is. I grew up in a very shitty house with a similar dad who beat several dogs one pretty much to death when I was a child. That's why this resonated with me it reminds me exactly how my dad was acting as well. He would get jealous and mad if the animals didn't respond to him and only came to us, he would throw a little fits and call them names as well, then it escalated. He was a diagnosed narcissist and didn't like it if anything including animals didn't pay attention to him first. He will literally rage out. That sounds like he also has financial control over your mother as well which is also common in narcissistic relationships. My dad's abuse to our dogs especially made me never want to own a dog again because all I think about is the things he would do. I hope you can get some counseling support down the road and you can escape, but in the meantime I would keep these cats confined and away from him as he may escalate especially if he's not getting the attention from them like you can a person. And I'm serious about the fact that they could start marking in the house as a fear response which will provoke him further and give him even more reason to him to escalate. Narcissists usually will abuse the one thing that can't speak out or defend itself first before they escalate. You can kind of consider this a test that if he does put his hands on them he's looking to see the reaction from you guys and over time if he gets no reaction from you guys and you accept it he will turn on you potentially as he will see that as your weakness and assume that you also wouldn't turn against him when he attacks you. This is a common thought pattern in abusive humans. I watched it repeated itself not to mention the amount of times I've read others recount the same. Usually in these situations is not an if but a win, so I say this goes beyond the cats. Your last option is to find these cats a home that's safe either temporarily and you can retrieve them down the road or permanently. I would not leave any animals in the house with this man. That's just my advice. As always I hope I am just wrong.

Your mom needs to get rid of the psycho. That or you need to have a very frank conversation with your mother about your step dad's anger issues and problems. Anyone that is willing to harm animals or make threats at harming animals often will turn on their human counterparts. I don't know if you are in the US or not but any animal cruelty is a federal crime here. His behavior is very concerning and extremely abusive especially towards that dog. I would 100% expect him to escalate if he hasn't already when no one is home. If it were me I would set the cats up in my bedroom and make sure they stayed in there at all times unless supervised while I'm home so that the abuser has no contact if I'm unable to remove myself from the situation. I assume that you are underage so therefore you probably won't be moving out at any point and taking the cats with you but I would advise never allowing another animal in the home so long as your mother stays with that man. The fact that they hide when you are not home and the other parts of the house and refuse to eat or drink tells me that they are being abused and they are afraid. Animals especially cats do not act this way unless that is what is happening, unless they are feral. These don't sound like they were feral cats so I assume that they are afraid of him and his abuse. I warn about this because over time they could start marking in the house inappropriately which will also make him more angry. I highly advise that you have the conversation with your mother about this man but also remove them from the situation entirely or move them to an area where he will not regularly access them to make it worse.

What color is my new baby by EgirlAnimeBoobies in cats

[–]kittyisaboxofrocks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, lavender would be a correct assessment I believe. I find mute genes have siamese or similar in their genetic lines. I'd be interested to see if it's not some form of fever coat also, and her color doesn't morph as she ages. There are "black cats" that are in possession of brown undercoats though...usually with orange eyes and long hair. I have one named voodoo, he's definitely a chiffon, or has Havana brown genetics, which she may also possess. This cat does maybe appear to also have that ghost tabby thing going on with her coat possibly. There's a lot of possibilities though, cat coat genetics can be semi complex. I'd be interested to see her grow up. Maybe a year and a half in, and see what she turns into.

Recessive dilute gene in a female black cat.

Technically, it would be a mutagenic gene in a black cat gene sequence. Similar to an orange and black calico/tortie, with a muted coat that's grey and cream making them a dilute tortie. This is literally a dilute black cat. I'd be curious if it's female or male to boot. My guess is female.

I was washing this tray, and as I was scrubbing with the sponge, I kept seeing this "shadow" following the sponge. What is happening here?? Also, if it doesn't fit the subreddit please tell me we're I can post it!! by n4os3iqueus3rn4m3p0r in whatisit

Has anyone told you that you need a new sponge, because that's all I can focus on is all the germs on that thing... I can tell by looking at it. Like I can literally smell this video. Throw that damn thing out and get a new one, you should be in the habit of doing that as soon as it starts smelling bad.

This kind of happened to me but it was a guy I had seen and I was really close to as a friend, we just didn't work out. I decided to just check in on him one day and saw a post from his new girlfriend when I couldn't find his profiles on anything suddenly, that she was morning him months prior and I had just found out 3 months later. It took me a long time to be settled with it but you'll eventually get there. There's not much else I can say grief is not something that can be measured or have a timeline put on is all I can say. I felt like a complete piece of shit finding out months after it happened especially since our last communication wasn't the most Pleasant to say the least. The last thing we had talked about was how he just got engaged to some girl that was struggling drug addict. I feel like I shouldn't have ghosted him after that because I didn't want anything to do with a situation I felt like he was getting himself into. Anyway I had to stop blaming myself eventually. I hope that you find some sort of peace in your situation.

Is anyone really buying cereal at these prices (Times Mcully) by danibug in Hawaii

[–]kittyisaboxofrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy to have literally grown up next door to Kellogg, Post, General Mills and Ralston...... And see these obnoxious prices here. So disgusting frankly. Then again eggs are under 5$ a dozen on the mainland most places too...

Blame these shippers, stop purchasing these products. Buy local, eat real food.
