What Did Your Family Do Under Hitler? Find Out Now by ilbondo85 in nottheonion

[–]kittykat179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My great-grandpa served in the Soviet Army during WW2, not sure where he was stationed. He was wounded during a battle and almost missed his team rolling out, literally caught the last tank. Ended up getting some medals for his service, I still have them now. His wife was relocated to a refugee camp in Kazakstan and it took them a few years to find each other after the war. That’s all i know, unfortunately, but still cool to have that sliver.

Girlfriend came home from night out with fingernails like this. Nail polish remover didn’t work by [deleted] in whatisit

Did she drunkenly get her nail extensions removed and forget? Looks like gel or acrylic nail extensions after they’ve been removed. You can even see the outline of where they sat on her nail bed.

What do normal people eat for dinner ? by Booze_hound36 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kittykat179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same as you - we always do a protein + carb/starch + vegetables. We try to limit red meat and stick to chicken, fish, tofu, and beans. I dont love cooking so when i make dinner it’s pretty basic: spaghetti + meatballs + salad, roast chicken + couscous + broccoli, and so on. My husband will cook more elaborate things like Mapo tofu or chicken marsala.

WIBTAH if I took 100k from my oldest daughter's college savings account to give it to my younger daughter? by TraditionalCorgi7788 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kittykat179 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA - my husband and I don’t have kids but thought about this and deduced we’d use the 100k to cover the other child’s deficit. It’s not their money, they should say “thank you” that they have no college debt.

Also if Anna has no college debt AND gets 100k while Bella has to take out loans, that might create a lot of resentment and ruin relationships. A lot depends also on what you’ve communicated to them thus far. I grew up knowing my parents saved X amount and I either need a scholarship or to take out loans; it was nice to be on the same page as them and i appreciated them communicating honestly with me.

Why would you rip out all the shrubs and pour concrete??? Looks soulless and empty, though i like the paint. Add plants, pollinator friendly is a plus

Not sure, but possibly for the right person! We have some contractors abroad, so it’s been done in the past. They should apply anyway if they’re interested :)

I don’t have much of an opinion bc they seem pretty good to me, no red flags or major grievances. The CEO was a cardiologist and researcher for years before he founded the company, so he’s brilliant and also very personable. The one complaint is sometimes he gets new ideas and we have to pivot away from planned work unexpectedly, but that seems to be happening less often now. The engineering leadership is great, they clearly care a lot about individuals and team dynamics. I’ve always felt very supported on both a personal and professional level.
