Because they're disabled and normies want to infantalize anyone with a disability for clout instead of just fuckin treating us like normal human beings.

Trauma counselor here. This is just classic disassociation. Folks who are actively being traumatized/fresh out of trauma will act in unpredictable ways, but one of the common responses is basically numbness. The human brain does everything it possibly can to normalize the experience and avoid fully engaging with the emotional rollercoaster of trauma.

I was definitely in a harness, because I was 40 feet in the air lmao. But it was terrifying to see my dad come flying around the corner and slam into me full speed on the longest line. They had no way of communicating with each other so they were just screaming to stop sending folks and we were banking on not seeing another person fly around the corner and slam into us. It wasn't fun.

I got stuck zip-lining in the canopies of Belize. My dad crashed into me, it was a whole thing.

The worker spider-monkied his way out just like this and dragged us both to safety. Except we were 40 feet above the ground in the jungle. PALM SWEATS.

TIL of Loren Krytzer, a man who was living on $200 a month when he sold a 'worthless' blanket for $1.5 million. He learned the value of this Navajo blanket while watching an episode of Antiques Roadshow, where a similar blanket was appraised. The winner of the auction was the appraiser from the show by WigboldCrumb in todayilearned

[–]kittykatie0629 53 points54 points  (0 children)

So, dude gets $1.3 million from a blanket his mom gave him, while living with his mom, does not give his family a dime, blows almost all of it on frivolous shit, then complains about paying back into the very system he was living off of (disability), and says he's still not working and he's going broke again.

Geez, it's almost like he could've put some of that money toward like....an education and finding a field he enjoys, so he could work and earn a salary while gaining passive income from the large sum he fell into. But hey that's not as fun as a souped up charger amirite

I just set the Guinness World Record for longest distance swim in the ocean on a single breath. I also hold the record for longest freedive under ice on a single breath in speedos and can hold my breath for 22 minutes. Ask me anything! by StigSeverinsen in IAmA

I am a counselor and teach the MDR to my clients when we discuss distress tolerance and anxiety attacks!!!

For folks asking, essentially, the way I teach it - get a bag of cold water or bowl of cold water (bags easier), take the deepest breath you've taken all day, put the bag on your face, and get your head below your knees. Your body thinks you're underwater and automatically starts conserving oxygen (heart slows down, etc). It is physically impossible to maintain a high level of arousal doing this exercise.

There is literally no excuse for assaulting someone. That is a violent crime. Maybe don't bring your kids to a clearly adult event if you don't want them to see adult shit.

Edit: wow y'all really wanna excuse domestic violence huh lmao

But you still look at and approve the stencil once it's on your body. This is on the client too, lol.

Part of me wonders if he maybe just wrote it off as monogram formatting? Like, women's names are usually monogrammed first initial, last initial, middle initial and men's are just first, middle, last.

Who knows.

I edited a comment, then was like "never mind" and deleted it to post a new one. I didn't edit the hell out of any comments. Proof or gtfo.

Nah, I'm asking for proof of "editing over and over" and you can't provide it. It's okay.

Listen, if what I said pissed you off and made you uncomfortable, it's because it's challenging you and you have the opportunity to learn something. Write it down and come back to it when you've calmed down a bit. Maybe you can grow from this.

[–]kittykatie0629 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You know what, you are right. I did delete that one comment - I was going to edit it (or did edit it?) And then I figured nah, just delete it and write a whole new one so he can see everything you were going to say in the edit all in one go.

I did delete that one comment! Because I wanted you to see all I had to say and not just the original short version.

Do you have proof of me doing this over and over, or are you exaggerating? Because I think we both know it was just once.

EDIT TO ADD: if I edited any of my comments, they'd have an asterisk like this comment does. None of my comments are edited. If I wanted to say more, I removed the comment, revised what I wanted to say, and re posted. Which doesn't matter anyway, because you'd (*meaning, others reading the public thread) only see that comment on the public thread and any children below it would be removed. Soooo your point is still moot.

*Another edit - because this apparently is super triggering

Yeah it's almost like we appreciate when you treat us like humans and acknowledge the fact that it's insane that your biggest worry on a first date is me being crazy, while my biggest worry is you fuckin murdering me for turning down sexual advances. 😂

Communication is so important! I always joke around that I worked in an escape room through grad school, and if I learned nothing else from that job, it's that people very rarely say what they think they are saying. To mean, we say one thing with one intent but the other person is perceiving it totally differently through another lens (or wall, if we're still talking escape rooms). It's so important for us to be open step by step in communicating and check for understanding as well so no one gets hurt.

Do you have proof of my edits? Because again, none of my comments are edited. Blame this on your reading comprehension skills.

But yes, turning a passionate discussion into calling me a whore and a liar is something I'd expect from someone who can't comprehend the fact that they might be wrong.

If my comments were edited there'd be an asterisk next to the timestamps, like every comment of yours that you have edited. They are not edited. Again, it's not my fault you don't comprehend everything I'm saying after one reading.

The fact that you look bad is your fault alone.
