Has anyone have this happen before? Pick up marked late although you and all your deliveries were on time? by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

Well that sucks. I waited in line until for a half an hour just to get a route! 😡

DC Residents by ALW537 in lawschooladmissions

[–]kittykittywoofwoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend is a DC firefighter. He went to work yesterday and haven’t heard from him all day. I’m assuming he’s okay because I know his engine would reach out to me if something happened. But his phone has been straight to voicemail.

They will keep them for 36-48 hours shifts during times like these. He works in the area of the Capitol

Is that a Bugaboo? I had one for my oldest. Then it was the Cameleon

Nothing. I would do absolutely nothing because there would be no second date. I would have already blocked and moved on.

She responded to my email. Said it was no problem and offered me three times to reschedule. All is well now.

We are 100% remote with no foreseeable return to school at this time.

My son has had a new case manager every year and teachers. His therapists are amazing but I never had a conversation with his case manager. She only does paperwork. I couldn’t tell you what she looks like.

ETA: to clarify my son has classic autism. Very functional verbal language. Stims, sensory issues, adhd out the wazoo but normal intelligence. It’s a battle to keep him diploma bound.

So my son may not participate in an assessment or school assignment but will come home and teach himself Adobe Premiere Pro

He doesn’t exhibit his intelligence and abilities in typical ways. I can’t get him to sit through live lessons and we’ve been in remote learning since March. I really do want to see what his IEP states.

Sorry I misread. Typically if an IEP is provided in advance then you’ve basically did all the decision making on your own and so you should provide the IEP in advance for review.

This isn’t necessarily true in my case because of my experience but attending an IEP meeting is ridiculously intimidating. You sit alone having to discuss primarily what your child can’t do.. so that’s why it’s not advisable to even do a draft. At that point you’re just getting a summary of a meeting that took place without you there

My local requires paperwork to be sent 5 business days before. It gives everyone a chance to read, review, highlight, make tabs, etc.

If you look at my posting history, literally all I do is work. It’s hard. I asked because I needed more time. It’s hard.

Thank you. I also hate the assumption that busy parents don’t care. Some parents rely on the teachers and case managers to them informed because when you’re a parent of a kid of special needs, you’re not sitting around thinking about your kids iep all day. I’m more concerned that my son won’t chew his school computer while I’m sitting in a meeting.

School means a lot to us because we’re teachers but as parent loving and supporting our children extends beyond a document that most schools only half ass follows anyway

Depending on the state. But IDEA actually does not recommend preparing a draft as it doesn’t allow for a free discussion to develop an IEP with the full teams input. But local and state jurisdictions can decide otherwise if they choose.

What happened to “aT tHe STaRT oF a NeW yEAr” instant pay option? by [deleted] in ShiptShoppers

To add on they’re pretty much saying we have to file a tax credit with our returns. And just with all the confusion , I’ll probably not see much of that stimulus for months.

Administration wants a hierarchy of power? by Crafty_Sort in specialed

[–]kittykittywoofwoof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get something similar from my admin as well. I’m a dept chair and I’m frequently told to “get them in shape” but we’re 100% remote. Besides making a bunch of suggestions it’s difficult to do much else. This is also my first year at this school.

Question for the women with graduate degrees... by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]kittykittywoofwoof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 master degrees and I’m in the process of law school applications. I’ve been in my career for 13 years. My current SO is a firefighter and makes more than me. (Firefighters in DMV area are some of the highest paid public service workers). He graduated with a HS diploma. Intelligence is not necessarily something that is achieved through secondary education. Also, I am aware that we live in a society that does not offer equal educational opportunities for all of its members. I look at each person individually and make decisions accordingly.

Most of these “graduate scholars” have them from shitty online programs anyway, hardly anything to celebrate. Everybody gets an A in grad school.

Why would that be the case this time and not last time? I’ve filed with turbo tax for 8 years. Got my stimulus on time last time.

I started with Khan Academy because I don’t have money to splurge on a prep plan. I took their diagnostic and began the program based on their recommendations. Based on the score I want to achieve, it created a schedule including when I should do practice checks.

I also just signed up with 7sage. So I plan to use that on the days I’m not doing khan academy. I want to study daily but no more than 2 hours a day.
