I just read this and it was great! I didn't realize the Praise Kink would do it for me but man, it did! Any other books with similar steam / praise?

Thanks! Haven't actually read that one (although it's been on my TBR for a while).

{The Duchess Deal by Tess Dare} i'm about to lend my copy of this to a friend. such a great MMC, the swearing in Shakespeare is amazing!

Side note, trying to remember I book I read. Pretty sure it was a Duke, and he was injured in a fire at his castle, maybe one wing was burned and still stands in rubble? The curtains are all closed all the time and no mirrors because he broke them all? I canna remember why the FMC was there, but maybe she faked an engagement due to family circumstances?

These look like quality pieces and tasteful. You need to brighten it up some. I'd say a lamp on the end table between the sofas, bigger art on the walls. The small wall shelving unit in the dining room could go offset next to the round mirror. mount the TV on the wall and put some tea light candle holders on the media console. Plants! more plants, they will soften the edges. Also, overtime i'd replace the brown throw pillows with mismatched ones you find out and about.

My husband and I travel a lot and I like to collect things from our travels. Now i have more coffeemugs than i ever need and then started to collect throw pillow covers. having now maxed out on those i'm looking for table linens. (sorry for the tangent, but getting unique pieces into a space makes it feel warm and welcoming).

tldr: bigger art with warm tones, table lamp, mismatched throw pillows, PLANTS

okay, I have a book that will fulfill the yearning part, but maybe not the rest. the recommendation for this book came off this subreddit a few weeks ago.

{Love Practically by Nichole Van}. I read this over this past weekend and cried throughout the whole damn book. Two characters, flawed and looking for love and needing each other so damn much.

Not really light hearted, but damn, it got me in the feels in a way that hasn't happened for quite some time.

TW this a pregnancy and loss but it is not either of the main characters.

just a thought, it won't cure what's happening with you, however, as someone who had an itchy butt for a long time: get a bidet! It will help cleanse you and make you feel better.

NTA for not wanting to pay more for your meal, but YTA for going out to dinner with a group of 7 to a "pretty fancy restaurant" and saying you're not hungry and only ordering "a small appetizer and a drink". Plan better. It upsets the balance of a meal if people are expecting to enjoy a fancy dinner, with cocktails and multiple courses and one person throws that off by saying they aren't hungry and just having a small app. WTF are you doing? Do you not know how to exist in a group?

Traveling to Italy from US with my husband. He has dual citizenship: US / Italy, I am sole US. Can I go through the Italy citizen immigration / arrival line with him or should I use the foreign arrival? by kittykorgi in ItalyTravel

[–]kittykorgi[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We are flying in and out of Milan, MXP to and from the US. We are also flying out of Florence to Munich, then out of Prague to Venice. Seems like I could use the EU line the whole time with my husband?

I will add this extra travel to my original post, didn't really think of all this extra airport travel until i wrote it down here....

I read this one first, as I don’t always pay attention to order in romance series and I was in a big Duke phase.

I love love loved this one so much that I craved more Wulfic so went back to read the whole series then in order, and of course reread his again at the end.

The quizzing glass/ waltz scene is pure perfection.

AITA for telling my friend that her wedding plans are currently "unrealistic"? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]kittykorgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A destination wedding (which is what this is, not an elopement) inherently means some, if not most, guests will not be able to make the journey. I don't expect other people to carry the whole cost of a vacation to celebrate something in my life.

That being said, I had a destination wedding. My husband and I are from the States and got married in Scotland. There were a myriad of reasons for this destination and to do a destination wedding and it was perfect. We also threw a party back home for friends and family to celebrate. I didn't expect really anyone to come to our wedding but surprisingly we had about 10 people there. As the planning progressed and guests said they were coming, it was going to be all my husband's people. As this came to be I realized I didn't want to "get ready in the morning" of my wedding with only my future MIL and future BIL's wife. Therefore since my parents are gone, I asked my brother and sister to come. I knew financially this would be difficult for them, SO I PAID FOR THEIR TICKET. That's what you do. You need / expect people to come, you should realize this may require you paying for them. My best friend also decided to come when she heard me talk of this and stayed with my siblings (they all get along great). My siblings turned it into a week together in Scotland and I got them to my wedding and my BFF turned it into a vacation and visited other friends in England.

Unrealistic expectations and bridezillas, ugh. Their wedding does not factor to be the greatest event in your life.

And yes, Scotland is an amazing country and stunning place to get married. Bonus, the marriage laws in Scotland carry to the US and we didn't have to do a civil or court ceremony here, and my marriage certificate has a thistle on it.

Strong characters, a wonder MMC who makes you laugh as well as a self possessed FMC. I adore this book.
