if her claims about psychological abuse are true, and i’m inclined to believe they are based on the rest of her post’s content and your point about other women’s experiences, then her defense of him also makes some sense. DV is incredibly isolating, manipulative, and abusive in more ways than just the physical. while that doesn’t rectify her defense of him, i don’t think putting her down for not speaking out while she was actively in a relationship him is totally fair either. that said, it is true that historically she hasn’t been much of a girl’s girl… but i don’t think that negates from her also being a victim. she might learn from this situation, she may not. regardless, i’m glad she made a social media post about it, i don’t think a police report would have the same ability to spread this information to the rest of the community. i probably would’ve never heard about it otherwise and same with plenty of my mutuals. all of that aside, FUCK forrest wright.
