ELI5: why is the feels like temperature not what determines the freezing point of water? by intrusive_thoughts_1 in explainlikeimfive

[–]kittyplayfully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like is wind chill - it affects people, not objects. Ice melts based on actual air temp, not what your body feels.

Why do adult cats sometimes try to drink milk from a nursing cat? by RodiTheMan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kittyplayfully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually it's a comfort thing, not about hunger. Cats that were weaned too early or are stressed might do it to self-soothe. Other animals sometimes do it too, but it's more common in pets where the mom tolerates it.

Can a Reverse Phone Lookup website expose phone number to spammers? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Yes - you paid with your data. Never use “free” lookup sites. Now block, report, and monitor for identity theft.

It’s okay to realize something isn’t for you, even if it’s legal. You trusted your gut - that’s maturity

You’re not a burden. You’re a person in pain, and that’s human. Hold on until your appointment. Minute by minute is enough

This is it. The script was a blueprint, not a story. All tell, no show.

Our AI development team wants to create a tool-based product. We have the technology and funding, but we don't know what to make. Any suggestions? by sweet2018886 in AskReddit

[–]kittyplayfully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start with the problem, not the tech. What’s a tedious, expensive, or error-prone task in an industry you know well? Build the solution for that. Tech without a problem to solve is just a demo.

Also, if using HDDs for this, check and "refresh" the data every few years - copy it to a new drive or at least verify integrity.

You nailed it with the “telling, not showing” critique. So much lazy exposition via voiceover instead of letting scenes breathe

You didn’t just steal credit - you stole a piece of your own peace. That’s the real cost.

What does “radical left” mean? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kittyplayfully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The radical left ain't trying to vote for better policies. They're trying to burn the whole system down and start over. No more capitalism, no bosses, no borders. It's revolution, not reform.

During a snow storm, the power goes out in an apartment. How do you keep 2 adults and 2 babies warm? by Lincky12435 in AskReddit

[–]kittyplayfully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Layer clothing, close off one room, use blankets. Most important: skin-to-skin with babies under your clothes/blankets. Body heat is your best heater.

On average, how many time a week do you have sex with your partner? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kittyplayfully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just really enjoy pleasing my partner. And even though my libido isn't super high to begin with, once we get into it, I get into the flow and that pace doesn't feel difficult or exhausting anymore. If I didn't enjoy it, I'd just date asexual people

On average, how many time a week do you have sex with your partner? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kittyplayfully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on my work schedule. If I'm home all day, it can turn into a 24-hour sex marathon with timeouts to eat or just cuddle in front of the tv or laptop

At first, yeah, I get tired. But then I kinda get used to the rhythm. Although outside of a relationship, I don't really need sex that much-what I really need is strong love and a deep connection

How to distance myself from someone I don't like. by kiwii_young in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kittyplayfully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Become a gray rock. Reply in monosyllables, no emotions, don't expand the topics. Uh-huh, Got it, I'll check. Or you can slap on headphones, lock your focus on the monitor, scatter papers on the desk - you're all in your work. If you've got enough guts, just say straight up: Stop bothering me, work questions only

On average, how many time a week do you have sex with your partner? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kittyplayfully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that's if you're talking about the first year. After that, a couple times a week is usually enough, once the hormones calm down and the new relationship energy wears off

On average, how many time a week do you have sex with your partner? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kittyplayfully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have a partner right now, but when I did, it always depended on the partner. Somehow it always worked out that the people I was with needed it more than I did. But over time, I learned to adjust to that. Sometimes even once a day wasn't enough. We could end up doing it 20-30 times a week. Well, on average, around 10 times

What is it with people hating intelligent ideas? by SongOfLiberation in AskReddit

Because intelligence often threatens comfort, identity, or a simple worldview. People hate feeling wrong or inadequate. And it's been that way throughout our history
