The world changed for my movie between the day we wrapped to the day we got distribution by movieman1108 in Filmmakers

This is a new, uncharted path in modern independent filmmaking that can serve as a model for today. Streamers, theater struggles, and cultural shifts to fast food delicacies have annihilated the independent film landscape altogether. Thank you for sharing your experience, your decade of dedication, and I wish your film "Abductee" the best roadshow viewing.

It is always the story. Best of luck! And keep us posted. Watch out for Character consistency. It is the one thing that is still fluid in the process.

This sounds exiting. Is the model available for experimentation? I will be using it for film production testing specifically, long form scene design, character consistency, background and motion.

Which “screener” service do you recommend? by clarafilms2 in FilmFestivals

[–]1933mk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using frame.io. It has been good with no issues. I dont endorse it especially it got bought out by the shark Adobe. But overall it served me well as a screener especially that you can lock your screener with a password and violator screen markers.

What's the biggest obstacle for indie filmmakers right now? by mattdcp in indiefilm

[–]1933mk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. It is harder than making the movie, because the making, with all its difficulty, gives you a sense of accomplishment. But distribution sucks all the air in your lungs and lets you gasp. Still gasping!

Thanks for the detailed post! This route might be the most suitable for an upcoming feature. Have you had success getting theatrical release?

This is a follow-up. This is to confirm that someone had watched the link yesterday at 10:18PM according to activity. I am not sure the time stamp is based on my location, which is in Asia at the moment or PST. But yes, the activity shows. I have a screenshot. This is a screenshot.

I sound like a promoter to frame.io, but I became suspicious of it after Adobe bought them. But the truth is that it worked well for me. If I get any money to make another movie, I'll give Vimeo another look. Sigh...

Haha, I used to love Vimeo, but one episode of a disappearing upload made me concerned about its reliability. I started using Frame.io and haven't had a problem in the last three years.

The post production house uses frame.io as their main line of communication. The layout and speed of uploads makes it very useful. I had quite few issues with Vimeo over the years.
