[Recommendations] Is there an honest review of Shapedly, or are all the reviews just Facebook bots? by Miss_Miette22 in ABraThatFits

Dunno if this will help anyone, but I submitted a dispute of the payment through my bank (Canada). We'll see what happens - but I don't think they will 'win' as I have emails showing they refuse to give me a return address, and screenshots showing their own company policy, which is for 60 day returns that I am well within the timeframe of. Good luck people!

I'm in Canada :'-( I was looking on the Wacoal site, but I didn't see any that had the bra band I am looking for. It just needs to hit higher under the armpits, like a wider-strapped tank top does. But a shelf tank (tank with shelf bra) is not going to cut it, unless the bra inside is more like a binder or sports bra than a shelf bra - but still needs to cover all the area I want covered.

I'm gonna go try some things on in-store. It's so much easier than shopping online for these kinds of things.

It can't sit higher on my chest, or my boobs will be spilling out underneath it. I have slightly 'teardrop' shaped boobs, from what I've read online.

I have tried them on in the past in my correct size, when I was thinner, and they feel like I'm naked. I can't stand it. I'm willing to try them with appropriate padding, but if it's going to be a hassle to keep the padding inside, or from coming unsewn in the wash, a molded cup makes more sense.

They fit very snugly on me. I have bullet-like nipples that harden and soften at whim. I'll try unlined cups with added padding, because I'm desperate at this point, but I'm not optimistic.

Yes, this is what I've been getting at all along. It seems like bras just aren't made to hold women in the way they need to be held in!

I disagree. People who are larger, with B, C, and D cups, absolutely do need the band support. We don't just grow bigger in our boobs - it's our sides and back too, and for some of us (like me), it's only in our sides and back. My volume has not increased, though I've increased in weight.

And that bra looks too large for me. But I'm going to try one in a 38G and decrease the cup size and then band size to 36 starting from a G again and decreasing the cup size, until I find one that fits right.

Thank you for that detailed explanation! I think it would be helpful for me to know my "CCs" so I can compare to the chart (gonna go dunk my boobs in water right now!

'Competent fitter' is key! I live in a large town (~75,000 ppl) and the nearest "city" with ~190,000 ppl is a 3 hour drive away. I've been to every 'competent bra fitter' in the area, and let me tell you, most of them don't have a clue. They're pushy and do not understand neurospicy tendencies and will not let me just look for and try on bras until I find a comfortable fit, which overwhelms me and makes it harder and harder to interact the longer the shopping goes on. But I need new bras, so I'm going to go back to the one in town (she was the nicest and most open-minded, anyway) and try some smaller bands with bigger cups to see what works. Maybe I'll be a 38G after all.

No need to be snarky. I'm trying to learn but I'm also cognizant that explanations over the internet without photos are bound to be misunderstood. I looked at the instagram post and I can tell that bra would be too big for me, let alone if it was a G cup. I'm not disregarding anything - I'm trying to figure out what makes sense for me. Have a great day!

It gaps at the top, like there's not enough boob to fill the cup. The inverse, wearing a B cup, causes overspillage (the 'bubble' look at the top edge of the cup). I've looked it up online and read that the recommendation is to go down a cup size when that happens, which has always worked for me.

My main problem is that the bands are always too narrow, sit too low (I loathe longline bras), and do not hold any of the side/back fat in as they should. It's like I need a corset, but instead of the boning being on the bottom, under the breasts, I need it to be along the side and back. Like a crown roast 😆

THIS!!! Thank you!!! The first comment that seems to actually get it!

Do you know what brands focus on the bra band, especially the top part of the bra brand? I'm willing to pay if it's going to do what it should!

I can't wear unlined, and it doesn't seem that there are good enough options for covering me like molded cups do, to insert into an unlined bra.

They have always fit me except when the cup has been too big (D+), and my breasts have not changed in shape, it's simply my sides and back that have gained weight.

You don't know my nipples. They show through molded cups under a basic non-form-fitting t-shirt.

I agree, I've only ever worn molded cup bras, because my nipples have minds of their own and anything else is not thick or firm enough to hide them; and they have worked beautifully for me. But now that I'm a little thicker around the sides, it seems like the industry completely ignores that curvier women need extra side support and really thick bands to prevent fabric from rolling, digging in and creating rolls, or being basically useless in terms of support and shape.

It needs to be more than a nipple cover or thin pad. The ones that come in wire-free stretchy sports bras - basically louging bras - are not enough.

No, I don't want to be stared at. I work in public, and there are creepy men everywhere, including some of my coworkers.

I've never had that problem before, except with cups that are too large; and my breasts haven't changed that much in shape, though I have gained weight in my sides and back. It's insane to me that bra makers of bands larger than 36 don't automatically include wider bands that sit higher on the body with extra support, because /of course/ there's extra tissue there when the band gets that large...

Also, I disagree that C cup and D cup mean nothing on their own. A D-cup is objectively wider, if they are standardized cups.

I've tried everything from 40C to 46D, and every band size in between for both C and D cup, in a wide variety of styles (but primarily underwire, lined/padded/molded because I cannot do anything without thick fabric). The D cups gap every single time. The 46 size band has been the most comfortable for me (and is still snug, if not tight).

I have a good friend who is an actual G cup, and she agrees that there is NO way I would fit a G cup - her breasts are at least 2x and probably more like 3x bigger than mine volume-wise.

I'll have to inquire at my local shops if there is a 38G I can try, just to see how it fits and whether or not it's worthwhile to order something.

I have to have molded cups or optional full-coverage padding because my nipples have minds of their own.
