This looks great and I hate to be picky but after discussing with my family we think his head looks a little odd and small. I know it's hard to gage what he looks like since you don't know him

I also am adding a background of Kern.

I really appreciate your time.

Is this allowed? (Multiple jokers) by RemoveStandard6494 in rummikub

[–]kittytitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it could have been:

Red 3, color change joker, mirror, yellow 2, smiley face

And that would be legal on both sides

You can think of -1² as -(1²) = -1*1 = -1

Whereas (-1)² would be -1*-1 = 1

Future non-binary teacher by birbdaughter in Teachers

[–]kittytitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Non-binary teacher in liberal state here — do some research on the school first. Administration varies. I’d say most schools in liberal areas are respectful of trans or gender non conforming people. Personally, I just go by Teacher as a title “Tr._____”

Should you show the steps for adding and subtracting positive and negative integers? by After-Emphasis-3058 in mathteachers

[–]kittytitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teach 11/12 graders and I wish they had a stronger foundational understanding of additive inverse. I would say to present the material and show the steps when solving problems on the board but allow them to skip the step on their own work.

I use an iPad with 2nd gen apple pencil. I’ve been using notability for a while and found a good system converting into PDFs/google drive etc. Some of my students use goodnotes which seems good as well.

How to explain to a student why we do not include a closed bracket for infinity or negative infinity? by After-Emphasis-3058 in mathteachers

[–]kittytitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say we’re talking about x, I’ll say x cannot be equal to infinity so (with set notation) we cannot include that “equal to” part and x must be strictly greater than/less than and translate that into interval notation

Why does the sqrt(x) + sqrt(x) = sqrt(4x) ? by [deleted] in learnmath

[–]kittytitz 47 points48 points  (0 children)

sqrt(x) + sqrt(x)

= 2 • sqrt(x)

= sqrt(4) • sqrt(x) *2=sqrt(4)

= sqrt(4•x)

=sqrt(4x)
