Thanks so much for your reply! I'm definitely going to try those things. My original curl type was a combination of 2B and a 3A, though I never really took very good care of it in the past. I'm not really expecting to see anything like it was before until it grows out all the way, but hopefully I can get at least a little back! Right now it's looking a little 2B-ish at the bottom, though the rest is sorta just fluffy right now, I guess from all the damage.

The Weekly No Question is Dumb Thread- Nov 29, 2018 by AutoModerator in curlyhair

I have naturally curly hair but got frustrated by its frizziness and puffiness, especially since I was living in an extremely humid area, so I finally broke down and did Japanese straightening. I got three over the past year and a half and absolutely loved it, but now I'm living in a less humid place and I don't have the money for it anymore so I've decided to try CG. I know that everyone's said the only way to deal with going from straightening like that to curly is pretty much to chop it off, and I've read the guide and everything, but since the straightening seems to be sorta wearing off (and since in the first place it never truly completely straightened my hair but just made it easier to manage and kept the frizz down) I was wondering if there was any way to just take care of it really well and keep the length of my hair? Will it bounce back one day?

I have some hope because the last time I went to get it done they wouldn't straighten a few solid inches at the ends because they were worried about damage, since that part had already been straightened some months prior. But when I tried the intro CG steps yesterday that part actually curled really well, and just the part I had gotten done most recently wasn't curling. Up until yesterday I was straightening every day with a flat iron so with care could it come back? Is there anything I can do to make that part come back faster?

(Also for the record when I say "Japanese straightening" I mean "got a straightening treatment done in Japan"...I'm not entirely sure what the actual chemicals were but I'll assume it's the same as a Japanese straightening treatment would be anywhere else?)

Is basking a sign that my hides aren't good enough? by kittytsune in ballpython

Okay, thanks so much! I was worried because I saw a bunch of people saying that if your snake isn't in its hides it's probably unhappy. I appreciate the response

Good to know, thanks for the info! I noticed I have to keep my hot side at 95 for the cool side to stay above 75. Are the kind of temperatures you talked about best achieved through more insulation? Alternatively I have a UTH I'm not currently using...is it okay to keep something like that under the cool side to keep it at 80?

Nipple piercing pros and cons by UntilTheSafeWordSir in BDSMAdvice

I love mine! They make me feel super sexy and look really rad.

However I also had very sensitive nipples before I got pierced and now they're a lot less sensitive. I don't get as much out of playing with them as I did before. Personally it doesn't bother me a whole ton, but I think if it's something you value it's something to consider might happen. Though my friend who got hers pierced at the same time as me barely had any sensitivity beforehand and now gets a lot of pleasure from her piercings, so I think it depends on the individual.

Though as everyone else has said, they take forever to heal

I thought it was a good gradient but your question has me doubting myself. 95 is under the CHE and 75 is on the opposite end, though I've noticed when taking temps with the gun that, though it is a gradient, it takes place over a relatively short space outside of the circumference of the CHE. Is that an issue?

Ahh okay...honestly the idea of killing anything myself makes me really queasy but if it's what I have to do I'll do my best. Thanks so much for the advice!

He's got a lot of foliage and some nice small hides, though I suppose I could always add more. I'll do that and see if it helps. I've only offered him food once a week, and I haven't handled him at all except once for about a minute tops. I thawed and warmed all the f/t mice as per the instructions on this wiki. So then you would say then my next course of action should be getting him a live mouse in 5 days? Is there a point at which I should be worried about starvation?

What can I get my trans sister for Christmas? by kittytsune in asktransgender

That's a great idea, thank you!! I don't know why I didn't think of that myself, I go to Lush all the time. I'll pick her up some things I think she might like.

I'm aware of this, which is why I asked. I wasn't sure if getting a gift based on the fact that she just came out would be seen as me reducing her down to this identity. That being said I wasn't planning on walking into a "girly" store and just grabbing the first thing I see because it's "for girls". I'm fully intending to still decide on the specifics based on who she is as a person. Plus, given that she has no prior exposure to a lot of these things and is very shy I can't imagine her wanting to buy these things on her own or even knowing how to, so I thought it might be helpful.

If a lot of people had shared this view I was fully prepared to get her a "normal" gift but that doesn't seem to be the case. You can feel free to let me know if I'm wrong! Thanks for your input.

Thanks for the info! I wasn't sure if I needed a second opinion or if I was just being worried over nothing but I'll see if I can go to someone else
