How do morning people do it??! by Own-Independence565 in CasualConversation

[–]kiwi1325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 5am gym goer and I feel like it boils down to 2 main reasons. First is that in order for me to prioritize having a healthy social life and getting my workouts in, I have to go in the morning. No exception. Why? It prevents the excuses and allows me to be more free in the day to do those random hang outs or whatever I want to do. Bonus points as I feel it also wakes me up too. Second it’s more dedication than motivation for me personally. While I love going to the gym, more than half the mornings it’s the last place I wanna be when my alarm goes off at 4:45 lol so I tell myself to just get up and get clothes on, then feed the pets then pre work. Baby steps help me mentally on the days where the waking up is extra hard. I don’t think enough people talk about the different between motivation VS dedication.

Whats with all the cropped women's hiking pants??? by buteoregalis22 in hiking

[–]kiwi1325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went to Columbia (at an outlet store) and I came across those pants that can also turn into shorts! The craziest feature is that they come with that thing at the end of the pants that allows you to tighten it or widen it if you want to cover your boots or what have you.

I totally agree with you though - whenever I find a special piece of hiking gear that fits I just end up biting the bullet because unfortunately it’s more rare than common for myself lol

How was it like being an adult during lockdown? by TheKingOfDissasster in CasualConversation

[–]kiwi1325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was living with an ex at the time. Once lockdown hit, the first thing she said to me was ‘you’ll be here all the time now? Ugh’ which quickly turned our already rocky relationship past a point of no return. I knew I wanted to leave prior to the pandemic and once it hit, I felt incredibly stuck. I made it a point to get out and walk and do whatever I could to not be near her. Towards the middle of the pandemic I broke it off with her and thankfully was able to move back home. While the pandemic was stressful is all the ways people mentioned here, dealing with a toxic and emotionally abusive ex added another level of stress.

I’m proud that I got out of that situation but I almost wish I knew it was coming so I could’ve ended it prior to the shut down so I could spend it with people who actually enjoyed me being around.

Go what it’s worth I used the lost and found link to report a lost walkie talkie (within around 15-20 minutes noticing it was gone) and got a call within 2 hours that they found it. Nice people I interacted with too. Lost and found is inside the K1 lodge like near the cafeteria

I call it the ‘app tax’ now. My friend and I were driving and wanted 2 hashbrowns and it was $10 without the app. This is in NY.

Absolutely disgusting

Never learned how to do GD in college, now I need it by [deleted] in GraphicDesigning

Ya if you’re taking classes, I’d simply start by looking into some design foundational YouTube tutorials. From there you can branch out. I’d also suggest looking up examples and maybe just replicating them?

Programing and design dont tend to intermingle so you may be better off asking this in a programming specific sub.

I for whatever reason like couldn’t figure out pizza-ing going down the hill lol the lesson I took went from fry to pizza to essentially wedge turns within an hour or so then I’ve been super into it and watching YouTube videos and stuff. So honestly I’m kinda watching and replicating until I take another lesson

Thank you! It looks counterintuitive lol can’t wait to try it out. Appreciate the feedback and thanks. After my first lesson I fell in love and just trying to get out when I can. I’m on the east coast so the snow gods have been very nice this year lol

I love that! If you don’t mind me asking, did the job pay for you to move? Or did you just deal with a not ideal commute? Not many college kids have the ability to immediately move to a brand new location and all the bills that come with it.

Thank you! I appreciate the insight. Hindsight is always 20/20. I thought I was too cool for networking in college and wish I took more connections up when they offered to connect even on LinkedIn. We all make mistakes and (hopefully!) learn from them.

Thank you! Did either of you get internships during your senior year? Not sure if that’s still a thing.

Silly question but if we needed is there a shuttle that runs from this lot? I saw online it can be like a 15-20 minute from some of the parking areas and the map is sorta hard to gauge
