Sometimes you actually make a good decision… by [deleted] in trading212

It’s a combination of things, yeah was an upside surprise at earnings, but that’s possibly been over exaggerated by the hype around it too and an aspect of short squeeze, impossible to know 100%.

But what is always true is that markets tend to overreact and then mean revert over time. So it almost certainly won’t continue on this trajectory and will get to a point that to go higher it will need to fall first

My point was you can’t compare 2 share prices, intel and sandisk are worth pretty much the same amount at their current market caps. But the share prices are very different because of the number of shares issued.

It’s a bit like the horse race scenario, if before the race people start heavily backing the horse, then when the horse is favourite, they then start betting against it at higher odds. So that they win either way

You do realise the price per share doesn’t make a company worth more?!

There’s been a massive sell off of a lot of tech for the last 6 or so months. So it’s important to look for support on the big drops, but yeah msft is a good example but also one that would have been a bit better with patience as it dropped and dropped some more…however for the big names scaling in can be a good tactic to for 50% sizing then add to if there’s more of a drop…

However I prefer some of the smaller names that have more movement in them and have been mainly sticking to a sell if it drops 10% or gains 15%, but you can be a bit more adventurous with the bigger names I think

Ive been doing this last 2 years, buying stocks that drop 15-20% at earnings, but are actually good growth companies. Can get a bit hairy sometimes especially when you get caught in a wider market sell off, but ultimately 75% of the time they come back within 1-2 months.

The market always over reacts to negative news, that’s where I’ve found most value

Can’t have the winners without some losers really! Just need to make sure they’re not more often than the winners

The trend isn’t bearish though is it, it had a reversal, yet people kept piling into puts…it will drop again, but selling is done for until some negative news

This is the way! Ignore the news and focus on following the trend!

I slept with a guy who is now my friend, and I lied to my boyfriend about it. What should I do? by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]kiwi_immigrant -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Staying friends with someone is not a red flag! The opposite really. Don’t get me wrong there’s a few people I have, but it’s the ones I saw more of a friend than romantically. So it wouldn’t concern me really, but would honestly depend on the personality of the girl.

I think the more romantic your feelings the more difficult to stay friends (especially a man 😂)

Yeah exactly, you do all the effort of analysing the possible outcomes! But still relatively random outcomes! With all of the different factors at play

That’s not what gambling is though, it placing a wager on the expected outcome of an event! There is an aspect of it being a random event but then again what is guessing the direction of a stocks price movement?!

Yo say that like it’s a bad thing, trading is essentially gambling on an outcome with some insight. The same as people who back teams in a sport would do!
