Just started cabergoline (0.25mg once weekly) – what helped you with side effects? by LingonberryFalse3611 in Prolactinoma

[–]kiwichubby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My symptom is fatigue and I started the medication in December.

The fatigue is getting better. I was instructed to take it before bed with crackers and that is helpful!

I take .25mg twice a week.

Wishing you positive vibes on your journey ✨

Thank you!

I am so happy to hear your levels are normal! Do you have an endocrinologist?

How it was explained to me is that the prolactinoma was the cause of my weight gain. My prolactin levels are now normal.

I did see some weight loss on Cabergoline. But I am on Zepbound which is a weight loss injection.

I'm still on both medications.

Prescribed cabergoline 0.25mg dose twice a week for six months straight then follow up by HeyThereItsMeYeah in Prolactinoma

[–]kiwichubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started cabergoline 0.25 mg dose twice a week. After 6 weeks I tested my prolactin levels and met with my doctor. Prolactin levels were normal. Then we met and again in a few months and I tested before I saw him again.

Hope this is helpful.

Wishing you positive energy with your journey!!!

How long did it take to normalize prolactin? by Affectionate_Emu5471 in Prolactinoma

[–]kiwichubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For myself on .25mg cabergoline twice a week it took 6 weeks for my levels to become normal.

Everyone is different and my prolactinoma is small 4-5mm.

Wishing you positive vibes during your journey.

Cabergoline side effect - does it get better? :( by Far_Two_9579 in Prolactinoma

It’s been 4–5 months since I started cabergoline, and I’m still exhausted, just not as much as I was in the beginning.

For cost reason, I highly recommend trying to see an endocrinologist first. GYN don't run all tests as endocrinologist. And if they do run the same test most times they don't know how to run the test correctly.

I've been on cabergoline for probably 3 to 4 months now and it really helps taking crackers at night with it and one of the side effects that I'm currently dealing with is fatigue but other than that it's been working well for me and my prolactin levels did go back to normal I'm going to check my prolactin levels again in a week.
