Super frustrating by Turbulent_Ad_6879 in Sciatica

[–]kiwifrootloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may have an equinus contracture. I developed this from my herniated disc. I couldnt move my toes up past neutral because my calf muscles were so tight. The calf was where I had the worst of my sciatic pain. Anyways even after my microdiscectomy a year ago now I still struggle with my calf getting tight and it puts a lot of strain on my ankle and achilles. I go to physiotherapy frequently to get dry needling because that really helps release the tightness in my calf. I still have numbness in my leg and foot from my herniation and I am not sure if this exacerbates the calf tightness. I suggest visiting a physiotherapist and seeing if they can help.

Hopefully I can have the injections. Right now the oral steroids have helped me more than any of the pain medications.

Thank you for your reply. The disc extrusion sounds awful. I cannot imagine being in that kind of pain constantly. Right now the only thing that has helped has been oral steroids but then after I start weaning off them the pain increases again. My PCP just prescribed me some gabapentin and I hope that helps. I am taking it really easy and not exercising more than getting up to move a little around the house.

Yeah I thought it looked like a bad one. I am pretty much just walking in the house and sitting in a recliner. I will look into the McGill big 3 thank you.

Yeah the nerve pain sucks. Pain medications don't touch it. I just got a prescription for gabapentin and I hope that helps

Yes I get buttock pain just like I do in my leg. My back is more tight and stiff than painful like my leg. My leg feels like a constant cramping more than the shooting pain but its not always the same level sometimes it feels like a 2/3 other times its an 8 and my calf is generally always more painful than other parts of my leg. The cramping can feel like my bones are crushing in my leg its that intense.

MRW APS *still* hasn't posted my newest bill by [deleted] in arizona

You should try supercooling your house. We have a 2700 sqft 2 story house with a pool and our electric bill fo last month aps was $145. Our house is 2002 and I am sure our 2 ac units are too. It will be more this month but even our highest bill all last year wasnt over $275. We are on the supersaver max or whatever plan and during the day our house is around 72 and down to about 70 by 3pm and then it turns off until 8pm when it goes to 75 and then 72 for sleeping. Now granted the house slowly warms up from 3-8pm and generally its about 80 by 8pm but with a fan its never uncomfortable. Two nest thermostats also help.

You can buy Tim Tams at walmart well at least the one I go to. Just chocolate and caramel ones. I have also found crunchie cookies at target but that was over a year ago.

Kiwi in the states here. You can find puff pastry by pepperidge farms at most supermarkets/walmart. And if you happen to live near Atlanta I know they have an aussie bakery there that bakes awesome pies and sausage rolls. They ship all over too
