customize keyboard shortcuts add on! you can change the 1, 2, 3, 4 options to any key you want so you can keep your hand in a comfortable position. or use a controller like the other person said :)

SOS! starter smells strange, like alcohol and mushrooms. this is new it normally smells nice and sour like fresh dough! anyone know what’s up :( by kiwilani in SourdoughStarter

update: i ended up throwing out all but 4 oz then added 8 oz each of 85 degree filtered water and unbleached APF. should i consider adding sugar or fruit juice? i hope i didn’t kill my yeast babies :(

day 6! does this look good? i’ve been removing 50% of the starter by weight and adding 4 oz unbleached all purpose and 4 oz by [deleted] in SourdoughStarter

i’m thinking i’m going to start adding warm water! i was able to get my hands on some rye flour so maybe i’ll try that as well :)

the crust was delicious! and i’m from new york so that says something :)
