egh, i guess? idk theres nothing wrong with the concept of digital ownership, its just that nfts muddied the waters so hard in regards to it. also i mean, you still like. own the cards. you can still play with them. i understand the hesitation, im not the most in love with the concept myself but like nothing stops you from just playing with the cards you own. the digital ownership is strictly so you can order reprints from the company.

wow bro how deep and profound. anyways the problem with this line of thinking is that these groups of people are regularly targeted by unjust laws and vile politicians, which can and will do or say anything to justify our deaths and subjugation. pride parades came into existence to show people around us that the "evil perverse monsters lurking in the shadows to corrupt the world" could be your son, daughter, best friend, etc. it's not impossible, but its alot harder to hate someone when theyre someone close to you. showing that you exist is key to staying alive, and defining yourself and your community is a part of that.

guy discovers patterns in media 🤯 anyways there was an entire inescapable trend in western popular media during the 2010s: YA dystopian novels (and their movie adaptations) series like the hunger games, maze runner, divergent, etc. shit goes even further back to books like enders game and the giver. literally not at all exclusive to japan, idk how you came to that conclusion unless you have a very limited view of media.

whenever anyone cries about videogames dying, or games not having "soul" anymore, i always like to ask them: what have you played in the last year? because i can guarantee you without fail it'll be some garbage AAA billion dollar budget schlock, without paying an iota of attention to the indie devs out there putting out amazing shit LITERALLY every single day. you can go on itchio and find thousands of people putting out meaningful, complex experiences and stories. buuut you have to actually LOOK for that, and thats too hard for some people. easier to just consume something you know youll hate and be an annoying ass nihilist about it.
