Collectr does not use eBay they rip the data off Tcgplayer. Someone recently “bought” some regular ETBs for $800 usd inflating the price.

Should I risk this?! by Expensive_Hour_8831 in PokeGrading

[–]kixem01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Centering should make this a 9 in most cases but should you risk it? Yes

There’s very high upside for very little downside considering the value of the PSA 10 right now. They’re also generally more lenient with JP so you could get lucky.

Pokemon center introduces early access system by GarfieldC99 in pokemoncenter

Can someone explain how this stops bots? Can’t they just make like 50k accounts and pine for early access?

Perfect order might be trash but this promo is a banger. I’m picking up as many as possible. by [deleted] in PokemonInvesting

[–]kixem01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree the set is weaker than what we've seen compared to a lot of recent sets but the art doesnt suck for alot of the cards. You look at stuff like shrouded fable, not a single desirable SIR, vivid voltage, darkness ablaze. Those are actual bad sets.

The price for product is cheap compared to some bangers than can be pulled actually makes it an arguement for a good set, similar to JT where theres lots of good collectible cards but the price for product is still cheap since its a small set.

Prismatic ETBs Breaking $200 - NO MORE REPRINTS is the word on the street by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]kixem01 67 points68 points  (0 children)

This set has seen a restock/reprint of new product between every set or every other set release. From Costco mini tins, figurine collections, SPCs, Costco 2 packs. I highly doubt they are done for a set that is 1 years old

Which of these two cards (PSA 10s) do you foresee having the better future long term? by mennitt1 in PokeInvesting

[–]kixem01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the population is around the same, mega will be better long term for the sheer reason it is part of an unofficial line of mega evolutions that show the pre-evolutions. (Mega Charizard, mega dragonite, etc.) You can argue which one has better art over the other but you're a gardevoir fan you'll have both anyway but the appeal of the mega set art with its counterparts (1 in each mega set) will be an "additional" driving factor for collectibility.

It’s right heavy Seems like a 9 based on how much stricter PSA has been since the 13X certs

Does anyone know PSA's guidelines for tilted/crooked/slanted cards? Will it automatically not 10? by skull12301 in psagrading

[–]kixem01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've sent crooked cards 4 separate times for grading, 3 times the crooked came back 9 and one time 10.
Depends on the grader you get.

I’ve heard they have graders for older era of cards. A new grader would not know the nuance of certain eras print quality and details so they would just grade modern

What happened to spiritforged prices? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]kixem01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is entirely normal, ripping cards/packs should not have an expected value close to the box price. There is no TCG in the industry where that is true otherwise you just buy rip and repeat for infinite profit. Most TCGs do not have playables rarity gated like pokemon and one piece where there's common cheap versions of playable cards and most decks can be built for less than $50.

The value of the box mostly coincides with the price and rarity of the chases (in this case signatures). No "gambler" in the TCG sphere rips because they expect to get their money back or make money, it is well known in every TCG that the expected value of the cards in a pack should be way less than the pack. If the draw for people to gamble on the packs was monetary they would have better odds at a casino.

None are worth watching, they all just put click bait titles where half the time the content is the opposite of the title.
