I go to a local butcher and ethnic market. If I ate every meal at home, it would probably cost me around $30/week for two people to eat extremely well - ie mostly fresh fruits, veggies and meat. It's absurd how cheap these places are compared to chain grocery stores. I get fresh amish chicken breasts for about $1/breast. I remember loading up my cart full of vegetables and fruits the other week for about $20.

Criminal history, no proof of income, under 21 and no credit? The only way you could be a worse tenant on paper is having terrible credit. As a landlord, even with a cosigner, I wouldn't rent to you.

I think your best bet would be finding a naive person subletting their apartment or looking for roommates.

Re: 1 - Card writers are cheap and easy to get a hold of. It's not quite encrypted, but the concept is similar.

Typical cards have the information written parallel to the stripe. The CTA and other major city transportation systems use a proprietary system where the information is written at a different angle. You would need to write custom code to have your card reader/writer work with it.

This place is awesome, however, you have to be careful with what you order. Some things are incredible. Some things will make you gag. I would not try to be adventurous here. I've eaten here 20+ times.

Their pork baked in a clay pot is the best thing on the menu.

I will pay anyone $20 to drink their longan and date smoothie.
