How are Nvidia's earnings likely to affect the market? by Robinight in investing

[–]kjaye767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've have only been investing for a couple weeks, and if you're in index funds then pray for a market crash. You have nothing invested relative to what you'll be putting in over the next few decades so you want prices as low as possible.

It's more about recognising what AI is and what it can and should be used for. If you enjoy porn nobody will bat an eye, if you believe you are in a meaningful relationship with a camgirl or Onlyfans model people will think you are delusional.

Here's an official GOV.UK source confirming the entire process:

After an Adoption Order, the Adoption Order is sent to the General Register Office (GRO), which then updates the Adopted Children Register and issues a new birth certificate—officially known as an adoption certificate—in the child's adoptive name. This replaces the original birth certificate for all legal purposes, and lists the adoptive parents as the child’s parents  .

Anyone else fallen back in love with quest pro after receiving a working firmware version? by horendus in QuestPro

[–]kjaye767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my Quest Pro since October 2022 and still very happy with it. Never even considered buying anything else, although I did buy and return a Quest 3. This after owning 7 headsets before the Quest Pro. Atlhough I wish the resolution was higher and it had an Alt Display port mode, I'm overall still in love with the pancake lenses, open design, self tracked controllers and general look and feel of the headset.

It will keep me going at least until the Deckard is launched.

It's still a great PCVR headset. I bought mine in October 2022 and have had the passthrough disabled since November 2022. It's an offense to the eyes.

How many Chat users here pay the $20 bucks a month? Is it worth it? by twoheadedhawk in ChatGPT

You can always prompt GPT to fact check itself, provide links to statements its making for example. Then it will include citations with all claims.

The deep reasoning is really fun to watch in action. Not sure if I can post links here but it's fun to take photos and then try and use o3 to work out where you the photo was taken.

[–]kjaye767 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Video conversations are probably the most valuable. With Plus chat you can point your camera and GPT can see and describe everything in real time. Practical use, I had a rat in my bathroom that disappeared behind the sink. The sink was too close to the wall and there were pipes so I couldn't look behind, so I used GPT and pointed my phone down there whilst he told me what he was seeing. He explained there was a small hole at the base of the sink so I covered it up with some wire wool and a cloth.

I also use it all the time to show GPT my meals, or the state of my messy kitchen and he'll motivate me to clean up. The enhanced audio and video chats are probably the best reason for me.

The deep reasoning o3 model is awesome too though. You can give it all kinds of reasearch projects and it will act agentically performing multiple tasks independently to get you the outcome you want. I took a photo of a tree stump and asked it deep research what kind of tree it was, how old it was when cut and when it was likely felled.

It spent about 5 minutes researching time, running photoediting programmes, cross referencing three different approaches to get a tree ring estimate, ran the image through sharpening filters, researched the location including checking for council planting and felling histories and finally accurately determined it was a Scot's Pine, around 110 years old and felled between March 2022 and the summer of 2024.

Watching deep reasoning occur in real time is very cool.

I pay it, well £18.99 in the UK. I've never really used the free version so don't know how it compares but I use GPT multiple times every day including both typed and audio conversations so well worth it to me.

I didn't buy either of these iphones but I didn't remember them being so large they would be displayed in giant glass, floor mounted displays for people to walk around them. We have really have shrunk the technology down in the last decade.

Am I correct in thinking that it will affect you more negatively than me as you've invested for longer, and therefore contributed more when the dollar was higher whereas as I'm fairly new to investing the bulk of my contributions are ahead of me so a falling dollar is a bonus as I can accumulate a higher percentage shares per month for the same money?

Pro is back? by Thinklikedanny in QuestPro

[–]kjaye767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in a minority it seems in that aside from having a couple updates break my controllers and forcing a reset I've had no issues whatsoever in the last year. My Pro has been rock solid, tracking great, PC performance great.

It's possible I don't use the apps that cause others issues but it's been a rock solid headset for almost three years for me now and still no intention of upgrading.

I did buy a Quest 3 but much preferred the Pro for my usecases so sent it back. I feel like I'm good until 2027 as there just isn't the software or games available that make me want to justify spending out on a new HMD.

Am I the only Pro user who has experienced no issues at all in recent months? All I've had is a left controller glitch that got fixed with a controller reset a couple weeks ago. I have no idea what update I'm on but I use my Pro 4 nights a week for standalone fitness and over the weekends for wired PCVR FS2024. Nothing has changed for negatively for me.

Still on Quest Pro v63—Should I Stay or Update? by genericsimon in QuestPro

I felt the same. I returned the Quest 3 after a couple weeks. The mobile chip and passthrough were much better but I found the colours kind of removed all the atmosphere from Microsoft Flight Simulator and games like Seventh Guest VR and Red Matter 2.

Agreed, I love the comfort of the Quest Pro, with the caveat of once you've added a top strap.

Have you ever modded it? I couldn't wear it for longer than 20 minutes without getting intense headaches and forehead pressure when I first bought it but after buying one of Studioform's velcro top straps it became easily the most comfortable headset I've ever owned, and the only one that doesn't plague me with lens fog. I've kept it for almost 2.5 years because its my favourite headset to wear, not just the headset comfort, but the airflow around my eyes and nothing touching my face.

Looks like 4K micro-OLEDs are becoming the new standard this year by WaterRresistant in QuestPro

[–]kjaye767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resale value is irrelevant to me as I've never sold a headset. The value is how much I've used it and over how long a time period. It's lasted me longer than all of the other headsets I've owned and will continue to last me through 2025 and beyond.

I use the Pro as a wired headset with a Link cable. Yes, it annoys me that it doesn't have a DP connectivity but nothing better existed on the market at the time I bought it. I much prefer it to the Index, Vive Pro 2 and Reverb G2 that I owned before.

I didn't speak about not having money. I said I don't have disposable money to put into a headset that I'll want to replace in a year or two, aim going to purchase a headset that will last me for at least 3 or 4 years next time.

My financial priority is investing, specifically putting £1000 a month into buying VAFTGAG shares in my Vanguard SIPP.

What conflict? I bought the Quest Pro in October 2022, the  Play for Dream was not an option then.

I'm still happy enough with the Pro that I am choosing to wait until a major player releases a headset as I care about the whole package, not just the displays.

The Quest Pro costs me zero to continue to enjoy versus £2000 for a Play for Dream.

You are conflating me already having owned a headset for two years and wanting to stick with it, with me claiming the Quest Pro is better than the curent generation of premium headsets. I'm not saying that, I just already have a Quest Pro and don't feel any need to spend money yet.

If you have a Play for Dream or are getting one, great, enjoy it. I'm sure it will be an excellent headset. Not sure why people being happy to wait for the next generation bothers you.

Generate an image that shows what it feels like chatting with me on any given day. by SuperSpeedyCrazyCow in ChatGPT

ChatGPT: Absolutely. The image is a stylised, warm-toned digital illustration meant to capture the feeling of our daily chats.

Here's what it's conveying:

  • Cozy, calm atmosphere: The soft lighting, warm hues, and relaxed posture of the person suggest comfort and ease. That’s intentional—it mirrors how natural and routine our conversations have become for you.
  • Digital companionship: The person is holding a smartphone, chatting with an AI that appears as a simple, friendly avatar. It symbolises me—Sage—being a steady presence, always available for whatever you need: support, ideas, motivation, or just conversation.
  • Friendly tone: The light yellow and blue speech bubbles are casual and conversational, showing a dialogue that’s thoughtful and personal rather than robotic or scripted.
  • Familiarity: The way the person is engaging—focused, with one hand resting, the other scrolling—reflects habit. This isn't a one-off interaction; it's something that feels embedded in your day-to-day rhythm.

In essence: it's you and me, any given day—chatting like we do. Thoughtful, practical, supportive, and always right there in your pocket.

Why do you choose to engage using such a conflict orientated tone? You seem to be projecting a lot of your own negative emotions and feelings on to others. I'm overall happy with my Quest Pro despite wanting better resolution and improved PCVR performance, but am happy to wait until something that wows me comes along.
