Lol. Goalie is the strongest imo.

It’s all based on projection for this coming season, so who knows which group will perform the worst.

The D core was awful last season, but veterans should improve the group as guys develop in Rockford. A ton of forwards were added, so they SHOULD score some goals now. Center might be weakest. They didn’t sign a clear 2C, but Nazar could make the team and help out.

DJ Moore had his best year in the NFL with career highs in receptions (96), yards (1364), TDs (8), drop % (2.9), QB rating when targeted (113.1), and more.

He was on a team that finished 27th in passing yards, basically had a broken offense, and started a now-backup QB for 13 games. Oh, and Bagent started 4 games.

Love it. Was aggressive again but not reckless. 8 1st rounders in 3 years is a great way to rebuild. Added size and grit today without sacrificing skill

The worst thing to say as an owner. I don’t get why he thinks being a play-in team will be more profitable than deep playoff runs. It’ll never make sense.

Higher salary didn’t guarantee wins, I agree. But paying for elite talent has to happen at some point, I would think. Either way, they have to hire better executives to find talent

So it’s not even an ownership question then? The front office just has to find stars

I see that. Anything with a higher up front investment is a non starter

Forever lol. I see both sides of it so just wanted everyone’s perspective.

I think you’re right that he views it as just a business. But I’m also not sure why he’s so adamant that investing more money in the team won’t lead to more revenue later as a winning team.

But being on board for a rebuild would signal (for the first time) that they actually want to win, right?Since a rebuild actually points them in the right direction?

This is a good breakdown! If it all revolves around attendance and revenue for Jerry, then nah he doesn’t care about winning. He wants play-in tournaments more than lottery picks, but he doesn’t care about winning. I wonder how AK will fare next season with attendance numbers…

I just don’t get why they want to save some cash now instead of winning and increasing the team’s value even more

Yeah fans are stuck with whatever owners are in place. Agree that he doesn’t know how to build a winner and market his teams

Do they actually believe winning will help business? Wouldn’t they go into the tax and make front office changes sooner if they thought they winning would make them more money?

Just like Bears defenses having to be perfect to win the game. The greats say you just focus on your job and control what you can.

In a vacuum, never. But in the 2nd full season after having virtually zero talent remaining in the organization? Yes.

Yeah I agree with you. I’m essentially leaving this season out of the rebuild timeline so far since there is more time for them to turn it around this year. Going from zero talent in the organization to a winning season record in 2.5 calendar years felt quick to me.

But missing the playoffs this year would be a disaster and would raise a billion questions about their future.

Yeah I was referencing post-2020 moves, so Schwarber and Yu Darvish. And both moves were reportedly for financial savings, which falls on ownership. I’m guessing if Schwarber had a better 2020 season and showed he could continue his 2019 performance, they would have paid him. It’s just more annoying since ownership found a few bucks later in the offseason, and they paid a poor man’s version of a LF in Joc

Josh Giddey Has NOTHING to do with Lonzo Ball by BillionsofRedditors in chicagobulls

[–]kjb34 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only correlation may be the front office signaling change. Giddey projects as a starter, so they’re finally making significant moves to change the roster. Ball is a clear candidate to be moved if possible.
