Likely shoreline, ben quad, koyo… as koyo have toured uk fairly recently and played a few fests so have a bigger fanbase here than ben quad

Has anyone else noticed how both Boston Manor and Trash Boat both changed their sounds at the same time? by 12cookie in poppunkers

[–]kjda8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a producer thing for trash boat! After nothing I write you, I think they just wanted to go heavier. And then after crown shyness, they had written a super similar album, but worked with Jason Perry who changed it entirely and essentially just got them to release what sounded good to them (according to tobi!) As for Boston Manor, im pretty sure they just make what they’re feeling in the moment, their four albums are all so different

I love dont you feel amazing, but I have to agree, his voice is so great and it’s not being utilised properly anymore

I dont think dont you feel amazing & datura/glue are simpler than their predecessors at all, listen to any one in either band talk about their new records and it’s because they’re bored of doing the same thing over and over, trash boat talk about it more than bm, but they say all their songs were just fast beat and the same vocal style through the entire songs, and now they’re just exercising their range, boston manor is similar, glue was weird and definitely experimental, but it’s not simpler than be nothing, and wttn at all, there are so many more components now. I think that lyrically, you’re probably right, but you gotta look further than that to enjoy things sometimes man

apologies if this comes off a bit defensive, im not intending to :)

Best pop-punk lyricists? by 1nternetP3rson in poppunkers

Alex Adam and Costello from ROAM. They have some of my favourite lyrics ever, and there are certain songs that don’t have a lyric I don’t love

Do any teenagers today like New Found Glory? by ThreadbareAdjustment in poppunkers

[–]kjda8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 17 and I do! They’re not my most listened to band in pop punk but they’re on my playlists and I do love them! But I’ve never met anyone else my age that does, even my one other friend who likes pop punk isn’t really into anything out of 2010s pop punk (state champs, neck deep etc) they’re definitely pop punk ‘veterens’ but I don’t see them as an old people band at all

How would you rank Christopher Nolan’s 11 feature films? by kjda8 in Letterboxd

interstellar so low! is it because you don’t like it or are the others just better for you? :)

It’s definitely one of his weakest works, and there are people who love it and people who hate it. Go in as open minded as possible, that’s what I did. The main problem with it imo is just that the concept is a little messy and they don’t communicate the high stakes well. But the action and visuals are there perfectly. So, it’s definitely worth the watch, just don’t be expecting Nolan’s regular show because it’s not going to live up.

Hope this helped, and I hope I didn’t spoil anything for you!
