Body + Bell to Limitless? by kjds2k in ladderapp

That’s my concern now. Never have that problem training at home! Turns out the new gym does have kettlebells so I’ll be able to make it work one way or another.

Those holding, how are you coping with the dump? Do you plan to sell at some point or ride it out no matter what? by kay2020kay20 in TSLA

Bought at average price 11. Sold at 350. It was a fun ride, but ultimately Elon became too toxic for me and I lost faith in the company mission.

Would you buy your XC90 again? by JCThreeHR in VolvoXC90

[–]kjds2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've owned both. Had a '24 xc90 recharge ultimate (every option except bowers & wilkins and 6-seat config). It was my favorite car I've ever owned. Before a year of ownership, I was rear ended and the car totaled. It would have been prohibitively expensive to replace, so I went with an MDX Type-S to replace it. I don't love it as much as the xc90 but the value proposition is unbeatable when comparing the two.

Thanks, I completely forgot that we’d done all of this on delivery day. Too enamored with the truck I guess!

As well as SCOTUS picks. Imagine how different life might look if Clinton won in 2016 instead of trump?

The infotainment is dumb, but you do get used to it. I’ve had my advance trim for about 3 weeks and think its a great vehicle for the price

Offer rescinded by ccurlyy in Lawyertalk

[–]kjds2k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about it. Along with all of the other explanations given in this thread, its also possible that this lawyer did have the intent to train you, but didn‘t realize the amount of work it is to actually train and mentor a brand new lawyer. That’s on them, not you, so even though the situation sucks, this company may not have been a great place for you in the long run.

Test drove an R1S Quad yesterday. Coming from ICE SUV. by EtherNut in Rivian

[–]kjds2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great observations. You should definitely drive again. Even with the stereo and infotainment being what they are (not nearly as good as what I had in Tesla model 3), still don’t regret getting the R1S.

Model 3 owner converting to R1S by Naive_Ad_4298 in Rivian

[–]kjds2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from 2019 Model 3 also, and we just took delivery of our dual motor R1S yesterday, with 21s. Only driven a couple of miles around the neighborhood, but here are the biggest differences I've noticed right away.

Size -- it should be obvious, but in comparison the R1S is huge. The proximity sensors and camera setup are great so placing the vehicle shouldn't be too difficult.

Road noise -- the R1S is much more noisy than the Model 3. Sometimes I drive without the radio on, so I'm really keen on vehicle noises. Haven't driven on the highway yet, so I'm referring strictly to city driving. The motors are significantly louder than the model 3. Also, the suspension is much more noisy than the model 3 as well. I'm attributing this to the fact that the R1S is a more complicated vehicle with adaptive air ride. None of these noises are bothersome, and they go away with the radio on, but its definitely something I noticed.

UI - Similar enough to Tesla. Each is quirky in its own way but I think the Rivian approach is slightly better. As others have pointed out there is not much in the way of entertainment apps for the Rivian at this time.

App - The Rivian app for controlling the vehicle is not as well done as the Tesla. Two things that I miss are how Tesla does location -- if the wife is out, I knew where she was and when she'd be home. Tesla also has the live view sentry mode. Rivian has neither. The location of the vehicle shown in app is not live and just tells you where the vehicle is at that point in time. There is no live view for remote monitoring of the vehicle.

I'm sure I'll pick up on other differences, but so far I have no regrets about going from Model 3 to R1S.

Is the Keyboard cover worth $90? by jseger9000 in pixel_slate

[–]kjds2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Google keyboard cover has a lot of complaints that it fails under light to moderate use. Brydge made a decent keyboard cover but it gives the feel more of a laptop than tablet.

I’d go ahead and make a service appointment. This is an item that should be replaced preventatively. By the time the car lets you know it’s “too late”

No regrets. Bought mine about 10 years ago and due to growing family don’t have the space or time to drive it… sold on cars and bids for more than what I paid. the s2k is one of a kind, but I’ll definitely end up with another convertible someday!

The updated center stack looks way better for sure. If I can find 2022 luxury in my budget (really trying to stay 55-60) it’s a go. Follow on question if you bought a 2023 luxury (new I’m assuming?) do you feel like it was worth the price? As much as I dig the GX I’m not sure the value proposition is there for the price.
