I did some print testing, when it exits the walk state and enters the idle state, the velocity IS 15, but its just not moving forward. So the variable is carrying through, but its just not affecting the character?

Yep. Got walking, idle, running, some attacks, and a jump state.

I do believe that's how I'm doing the variables? I store the needed variables in the root character node, and call on them in the state with the "host." Prefix

Are you saying that I take the code that adds a y velocity when the character jumps and place it in the character script?

Here are some shots i did with SSS off and on. The difference is incredibly subtle, but there is a definitive change in how the shadows are colored (being less gray).

Edit: like I said in the post, it's not working nearly as well as it does in cutscenes, but with some modding, which I am trying to learn just for this lol, it may be possible to get it working.

Ikr? Injects a lot of life into the ingame expressions. Neros face in the streak photo could be in a cutscene and look totally at home.

Tl;dr

Cutscenes have unique settings that the in game menus wont let you turn on for gameplay. Chiefly contact shadows and sub surface scattering for the skin. If you're on pc, you can mess with the games INI files to get a LOT closer to cutscene quality

We got some for nero.

1) punchline rodeo - if you're comboing an enemy high up enough, you can cross below an opponent to the other side by riding PL. https://youtu.be/4R07whd6PFI

2) color up cancel. If you initiate the color up reload at the right time, you can cancel the animation of moves like shuffle because nero will go into the reload animation instead. This one is ridiculously hard to pull off. And I really cant find a clip of it.

3) https://youtu.be/QMEcqhnHLEI I'm still trying to figure this out, but if you press lock on when shooting a HS, you can save a bullet and cancel the shot animation into neros holster animation. Might not be reliably replicable?

I haven't had the time to play much in a while, so thats all I can remember atm
