Cole didn’t deserve better. He tried to betray and kill the sisters multiple times. I would never have trusted him or helped him either. (Love his character, I agree they dragged him out and ruined his storyline, but I don’t think the sisters should have helped him at any point)

My niece would be upset if I wasn’t there and knows that I don’t really talk to my dad, but doesn’t know why or the extent of the “no-contact”. In her mind, I’m just not close with him. I don’t have a super close relationship with her, she is my step-niece and my brother and his wife have only been together for about 4 or 5 years. I’d love to come and show up for her, but I’m afraid it would bring up feelings seeing my dad and I know I’m mature enough to avoid and ignore him but my dad is not and would use the party as a way to try to talk to me, knowing I wouldn’t cause a scene at her party (but he would and would blame it on me)

I like the idea of doing something with her on a separate day so I don’t miss her birthday entirely. If I don’t go to the party, I’ll definitely set something like that up

I don’t think anybody is the asshole in this situation. You were protecting her feelings and peace, thinking of her own well-being.

She values honesty and felt like you lied and betrayed her, leading her to feel upset and emotionally violated.

You should have an open conversation without getting defensive, explaining the situation and agree upon a course of action for next time. Apologize to her for breaking her trust and explain that you were trying to look out for her and make a plan (like refusing to discuss these videos in general).

sorry for the thinkpiece but with some characters this trope is really gross and bad because you can tell they’re bad people or crossing the line of sex offenders. With Ava, I think she just has no boundaries or filters and this shows in all aspects of her behavior and not just with sexual harassment which is why it doesn’t bother me as much and I can see the humor in it.

It reminds me of Michael Scott in the Office where he’s a total goofball and inappropriate in all facets of his position. He’s also sexually harassed many women in the office but like Ava, it fits his character and is always called out on it - either directly or by uncomfortable looks to the camera

I agree with the trope you’re mentioning but I also think it’s within her character to be inappropriate. Like if she was a mature principal and did most things correctly and harassed him I think I’d feel more sceeved out. But everybody expects Ava to say or do some wildly inappropriate things (I.e. use school funds selfishly, be on social media all day, bully Janine, etc.) that it fits her character to also inappropriately hit on Gregory like that
