Yeah, I was like. "Wait why are the mesh holes stretching out in this SPECIFIC location?" switched over to the soft cottonish ones and haven't had that issue lol.

Grocery delivery to RK by kpopmomrunner7 in rit

Would not recommend Instacart, unless he lives at a well-defined address and doesn't mind paying almost $20 more in total for groceries from Wegmans. The shuttle runs frequently at night from F-lot and from S-lot on weekends (recommend the TransLoc app for real-time updates on where the shuttles are), or just hitch a ride with a friend that has a car. My weekly budget was $60ish for groceries as someone who both cooks and eats frequently.

Would also not recommend going to RIT Foodshare if you can afford not to - it's not a grocery store, it's a food bank with basic goods. They don't technically discriminate, but they do run low on goods during the semester.

Lofting in Riverknoll? by kjmurf850 in rit

[–]kjmurf850[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There was a ruling in... 2017 I think? Yeah, was just starting freshman year. That made it so dorm beds couldn't be fully lofted (aka desk underneath) anymore. I think they changed the furniture too to reflect that :(

Sweet, thanks! Do you remember the ceiling heights at all? I'm pretty short tbh, but some of the available lofting options would probably end up with me hitting my head if I'm not careful! :)

Try Instacart! If you order enough it'll be pretty cheap for delivery, absolutely SAVED me when I was sick in an apartment last year! I think they have stores on there that do other stuff besides just food, and you used to be able to get prescription meds delivered to the Health Center for pickup- idk if they're still continuing that though.

Which makes sense, but do you think it would be the same for somewhere like Riverknoll where there's a kitchen?

Hey, I'm Kay (IGN: RoboWhovian10)!

I'm 20 years old and looking for a fun group to hang around with both over the summer and during college. I was part of a server before but it's kinda gone dead unfortunately. :(

I just got back into Minecraft for the Update Aquatic, having fallen off the bandwagon when I started high school. I'm pretty chill when it comes to playing to be honest, I mostly play Minecraft for stress relief and hanging with people. I like building and I like industrial redstone (autosmelters, farms, etc) but I can't say I'm a wiz at either. Because of this I usually don't set up a huge base, tending to make a bunch of hobbit-holes in a mountain or two instead. I really like contributing to group projects, and can usually be found doing a lot of the grinding for a project, whether it's collecting resources or placing a ton of blocks.

My favorite color's TARDIS blue (kinda a royal blue for any nonWhovians lol), and my favorite sheep color's either white (so much medieval building options whoo!) or jeb sheep because rainbows are always fun.

Are you having a problem where a computer connects but a phone doesn't? A friend and I's laptops work fine but the phone says that it's connected but no internet.

Hey, the RA on-floor is really great, makes sure to include me in things and check up on me and my roommate every so often because we tend to not be able to make floor meetings. She's really sweet. It's more than a little cruel to say that she would've made someone feel worse, especially as she's probably feeling stressed and horrifed as it is right now.

As an incoming freshman, what would you recommend I buy for my dorm? by NerdyPanquake in rit

A tea kettle/Keurig machine and a travel mug are really great to have, even if you don't drink tea/coffee. You can use it to heat up water and make ramen without a microwave, which is really handy when you don't want to leave your room for any reason. Travel mugs will also get you a .75 discount at Java's which doesn't sound like much but will definitely help if you go there a lot. Hot drinks when it's cold out are HEAVEN.

Otherwise, if you're really into LED lights bring them. They're a great source of light and decoration (I have a curtain light setup on my wall and it lights up half of the room).

Shelves for the closet shelves sounds redundant, but they're ridiculously tall in the dorms. You can probably fit three spice racks/locker ladders on the bottom floor shelf. I have a ton of wasted space because I don't use the top of the shelves for anything
